Kimi likes to smoke, that is no great secret or mystery.

I have no idea how heavily but that is probably who rosberg is referring to.

Schumi does cigars, but I doubt he smokes.

My bet is also Kimi

I thought that he was a fitness fanatic?

As for a smoking driver, I think it might be Maldonado.

Di Resta was shown smoking after one of the earlier races this year on the BBC's forum.

I googled it up as well after Rosberg's revelations....found no credible information. Some of you say its Kimi..but that's all self made suppositions.
The guy who named Pedro De La Rosa...kindly provide some references to back it up...

Being a chain-smoker myself....it's self-reassuring to see F1 drivers being one as well :D

I well remember seeing Keke smoke in the pitlane in Zolder in 1984, he even begged a cigarette from the marshal who was telling everybody it was forbidden in the pitlane.
Surprised to see there still are smokers among people who should be aware of the importance of health. I can understand an addiction to adrenaline - every driver is that - but nicotine? Shocking...

I knew that Kimi used snus or chew tobacco, but I've never heard of him smoking. Nevertheless, I don't think it's him.

Good for them whoever it is. The demonisation of smokers and smoking by the politcally correct anti-choice gestapo has reached ludicrous heights. It's got to the point where a well known person lighting up counts as striking a blow for personal liberty.

Smoking isn't a choice of personal liberty, not when you are actively damaging the health of others.

hmm, I was at the lounge where kimi was at for approximately 3 hours. In that time, he never lit up a single ciggy nor did he even drink any alcohol - he stuck to mineral water the whole time. so I dun think kimi is a chain smoker

They're selling it here in the States now, but all the ones I've tried are too sweet for someone who's used to Copenhagen.

Would an F1ers definition of a chain smoker match what the rest of us call a chain smoker?

Maybe it is Maldonado, he has very bad skin which is a common sign of a smoker.

That's the only photo I could find too. However, it seems to be a nightout drinking party by the looks of it, many otherwise non-smokers smoke an occasional cigarette when out drinking. I'd be very surprised if Nico's mystery chainsmoker was Kimi because Kimi's been involved in F1, rallying and international racing for so long that by now it would be no secret if he smoked. And I don't think Kimi who doesn't care what others think would try to hide it either.

I can feel 10 pages of debate coming on. Unfortunately I have to nip out for a ciggie.

It's not about "personal liberty" or whatever. It's about the fact that smokers think that no-one else is inhaling the smoke from their ciggie.

A non-smoker can be walking down the street and be unintentionally inhaling smoke from passing smokers. That's not my choice, that's yours. If you choose to smoke, then I'm fine with that. Just try not to do it somewhere near me, cos I don't want to be inhaling cancer fumes.

And yes, I say cancer fumes, as there are now so many lung cancer victims who can be directly attributable to smoking it's ridiculous that people think there's no problem with doing it. It's reckoned that smoking itself has killed 100m people in the 20th century (WW2 ended with approx 70m total dead).

Sorry for getting a bit preachy, but it does get right up my nose when people try to vigorously defend smoking. It's your choice to do it yes, but don't preach to everyone about it. Just get on with it quietly please.

please enlighten me with some evidence of someone getting cancer from walking down the street passing someone who is smoking.

You inhale far worse on a daily basis from other sources. BTW I dont smoke, never have never will and made my wife stop after the second date.
