The first major F1 event in the USA and the BBC misses it!

Surely they could have swapped another race for this one, as this is arguably one of the most important this year, as a lot will be riding on it.

Now I'm going to have to find another way to watch, as I work and can't stay up late to catch the BBC highlights.

I'm not sure, but didn't the whole selection of which races are live and which aren't involve the BBC picking one they were gonna show live, then Sky pick one which is exclusive etc?

Then the BBC messed the negotiations up more than I realised, they had the ownership of the rights and seem to have bent over for a little bit of money.

BBC had to obviously pick Silverstone first. If Skys first choice was Austin what choice did the bbc have?

I believe BBC had the pick of the first 3 they wanted and chose, you'd imagine, Monaco Silverstone and Brazil. Then sky picked 3 exclusives and they took it in turns to pick until it wittled down to Valencia and Hungary!

A bit late now but for next year a sat dish pointing to Europe tuned to RTL and N-TV gives you practice session’s qualli and race live.
Tune into Radio 5 live/Extra for the commentary, all legal and free to air.
Although you sometimes have to put up with Legard for the commentary.

Mind you when the Beep have finished paying out all the compensation for all their pervi goings on, I doubt they will be able to afford to cover a game of rounders in my back yard next year.

IIRC they also had rules that the they couldn't have 3 in a row of BBC or non-BBC, which actually made it impossible to pick all the races that were likely to be good/interesting while also picking Monaco, Silverstone and the first & last races.

This one would really mess up their previous evening schedules

Brazil is two hours earlier so a much better option for them

The first race the BBC showed live this year was China, not Australia.
