Hi y' all

I am a vettel ( and raikkonen) fan. Naturally, I have been thinking quite a bit about the final race lately and my gut feeling ( and worry) is that seb will DNF on sunday handing the title for Alonso.

Obviously I dont want that to happen. An ideal outcome would be vettel dominating the race and winning it.

Whaddya think will happen ? What does the psychic in you say ? :)

My gut is telling me that Vettel will crash under pressure from Alonso but that Alonso will have a mechanical failure while leading, on course for the title. Vettel will be saved.

Just a feeling!

I had a dream the night before last that Vettel and Webber both suffered mechanical failures on the final lap and Alonso came through for 3rd.

But, in all likelihood, Vettel will win it.

I have this feeling as well. It'll be such an anticlimax. Of course if its Vettel then Alonso will still have to race hard for 3rd so it won't be that bad.

I have this gut feeling that both Vettel & Alonso will crash out the first corner, Vettel win the WDC and Kimi win the race.

Vettel will win it. I don't see Alonso winning with Vettel still running in the race

we'll have a Vettel and Alonso DNF and Hamilton will win the race.

A very anti-climatic last GP of the season

Vettel will win the title.

There will be lots of talk about rain and DNF's and worry from both Red Bull and Ferrari but we'll probably just see a standard Brazil race where the Red Bulls dominate and stay reliable.

Not sure to be honest. Recent history (2007, 2010) would suggest Alonso isn't out of it at all.

Title deciders nearly always appear to be an anomaly.
1998 - Schumi stalls.
2003 - Schumi crawls to 8th.
2007 - Hamilton makes a balls of it.
2008 - Hamilton nearly makes a balls of it again.
2010 - Alonso and Webber finish way down due to strategy mess-ups.

Not sure if it's pressure or what but it's rarely plain sailing at a title decider. Add to that the fact we're going to Brazil, rain is looking likely... I really have no idea.

I'm as excited as hell though!

Haha I was just thinking the same today. All the hype and BAM!, Alonso is out in the first corner. I also dreamt that Vettel crashed and Alonso won the WDC. I always dream about races but none of my dreams actually came close to the real events :-P On the other hand, my gut feeling says that Alonso is going to win it, simply because he seems to have the "champions luck", like we say in Spanish: esta con la suerte del campeón. . Things will start badly for him at Brazil but eventually everything will fall into place.

Should be Vettel, but IMO what spices it up is that the McLaren have passed them now.

My gut feeling is Alonso to get pole and victory if it is indeed wet, as all the wet sessions this year he's been nigh-untouchable. Vettel will still win the title though.

I think Vettel's alternator will fail on lap 11, leaving the order as Hamilton, Raikkonen, Webber, Alonso, Massa.

That order remains the same for most of the race, but after the only round of pit stops at around lap 19, Alonso gradually catches Webber in third place and passes him four laps from the end. Alonso wins the title by two points over Vettel.

Podium:

1st - Hamilton
2nd - Raikkonen
3rd - Alonso

Well the weather report is saying it will rain on Sunday and in qualifiying it's sunny with light cloud. So im predicting Vettel on pole followed by Lewis in 2nd. In the race i that anything can happen in the rain so im just praying for a great race no alternater failures and may the best win. Would be shame if Vettel lose's the title due to a failure in the last race.

Gut feeling says that Seb will somehow run into trouble with the car or a back marker and Alonso will be in the usual position to get the title fall in his lap as have many wins and podiums through out the year .

The problem is that LH , Button and Webber who can stop Alonso cant be relied upon to stop Alonso getting the title. Vettel has to take matters into his own hands.

One thing is sure - Alonso will not beat Vettel to the title on pace but only via stars aligning for him , but the star aligning has happended so many times that there is a good chance of that happening again. Best thing for Seb would be if the race is curtailed to half points due to delayed start.

Somehow, I think neither Vettel nor Alonso will win the race. Maybe Hamilton again, or Button (luck with rain). Maybe Vettel in 3rd.
Alonso will fight to the last lap to get some places, but I think eventually Vettel will win the WDC.

Alonso will get taken out at the first corner, triggering a safety car. After 5 laps behind the safety car Vettel will pull away from Webber and that'll be it. Not much else will happen, except maybe a scrap for 8th between Senna and Hulkenberg.

It'll be the worst anti-climax after one of the best seasons in F1 history :(

My gut feeling says that all things being equal, Vettel will cruise to a comfortable podium and Alonso will finish 3rd or 4th behind him.

Vettel Pole and Win

however FIA strip Red Bull Racing and Ferrari off all wins and points this season due to banned Triple DRS found on both cars, Thus Kimi Raikkonen is champion...proving Ted Kravitz some sort of genuis.

Lol, as predicted, a lot of PF1 forum 'gut feelings' revolve around Vettel failing to complete the race. Lol, how about we call them 'Gut wishes' instead. so so predictable...

Come on man, you've got to remember that F1 is unpredictable, anything can happen and many of the posts in this thread have been reasonable predictions in my opinion. :)

If someone predicted what would've happened at Brazil 2008, people would have called them mad... but look what happened. :proud:

I think Vettel will be on pole, or possibly P2, pipped by Hamilton. Alonso will be in P6.

The race will be wet, with a safety car start. Vettel will finish in the top three, Alonso in P4. Vettel wins WDC.

That would be the absolute worst thing to happen! LOL

I feel Vettel will clinch it, but I hope Alonso and Ferrari are able to make it close. I don't want to see a "2008 Hamilton"-like showing from Ferrari and Fred.

If Alonso can win, would it be possibly be regarded as the best championship won with the least competitive car overall?

Sadly a meteor will crash into Sao Paulo on the last lap. It will cause world destruction.

Seems likely given his current form - he seems to have completely upped his game since the Merc deal was announced.

Alonso will be going backwards.

Vettel is probably the most cursed driver at this point, so I have a feeling he will not finish

Edit: I hope both DNF, but not at the start, probably towards the end
