I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but the McLaren reportedly stopped out on track with a fuel pickup issue, and could be sidelined for some time.

Yeah I saw on twitter earlier that the Mclaren had a fuel pickup issue. Looks like reliability already a concern for them. Hopefully they sort it during testing.

Maybe the same problem as Abu and Monza.

Both fuel pick up issues and both caused by Merc supplied parts ;)

I now know why its crap to go out the first day, if you got problems your time is cut short - by the next day though the other driver has a higher probability of having a full session

Hard compound, which has an orange stripe this year instead of silver.

Highest lap count of the morning belongs to Maldonado, with 52 laps for Williams. Di Resta, Ricciardo, Massa, Hulkenberg and Webber have all done 30-37 laps.

Only 11 from Rosberg, 15 from Grosjean and three from Button.

Shame about the Mercedes, Rosberg's pace looked really promising.

it was on the hard tyres for rogro, last year kimis time which is 0.3 seconds quicker was on the medium compound

but now as all the compounds are different who know how comparable last years medium is to this years hard

Still 0.126 slower than last year 1st day fastest. Initially i thought cars with modesty panel is faster early the session but then RoGro set the fastest time.

having the fastest time on testing day 1 will bring the picture of your car to almost every f1-related website = good for your sponsors... that is from a marketing perspective... in this case it might also be justifying signing rogro for another year...

First day of testing is impossible to draw conclusions from. Merc's technical difficulties are nothing to worry about. Better to get those problems sorted now than in the races. PEACE.
