Was today when Hamilton fully asserted his dominance over Rosberg? Nico screwed the pooch on his start then spent 40 odd laps just fannying around before he got second while Lewis just cruised.

Bahrain was helped greatly by safety car. I dont think we are going to see battle for wins this season. It will be who takes last podium place for the whole season.

Why will Europe be such a big difference to RBR ? is the tracks or more development?

What has happened to McLaren since Australia? Did they slow down, or did everyone else pick up time?

No. He would have needed way more laps to pass the Ferrari anyway.

There's still Canada in between though. After Monaco.

Oh c'mon, it can't go on like this, Rosberg needs a DNF, some problems or something, he's not doing anything special, just collects 2nd places and leads the WDC... x( :]

Lets hope that the usual big improvements that usually happen by the time the cars get to Europe happens this year...for everyone else to catch up.

Whether it is two RedBulls or two Mercedes killing the field, it doesn't matter. It is the same result - boring racing and having to make due watching dicing further down the field.

Credit to Mercedes for getting everything right. It seems a shame to be wishing everyone else luck and for them to slow down because they absolutely did their jobs and got it right.

But lets see some racing for the lead.

Yeah it's a shame Rosberg got 2nd. Really didn't deserve it over Alonso and Ricciardo. But the W05 is so fast even Max Chilton would have gotten 2nd with it.

Are the engines now "sealed" or are they still being developed?
keep hearing the odd comment about finding extra power from the Renaults?

Whatever changes they are making is minor. Mainly software related to sort out how ICE and KERS work together. ICE development was sealed before the first race.
So whatever Renault and Ferrari are doing right now is managing the recovery and power delivery of the power unit. The V6 petrol engine development is frozen.

We are seeing interesting things, even though not accompanied by great racing.

Hamilton starting to look consistent. Rosberg looking less consistent.

Ricciardo performing well in the Red Bull, which seems to have the best chassis. I wonder how many of the team in Red Bull will worry if it begins to look like Vettel wasn't what was outstanding in the team over the last 4 years. "Yes boys!"

Alonso seeming to be that cut above everyone. Does anyone think any other driver would have achieved more with what Alonso had to work with over the last few years? That's part of the reason I would like to see the cars counting for less and the driver counting for more - Alonso only has 2 world titles.

I can understand why a 1D fanboy might get annoyed. ;)

Fair play to him; he did admit post race that it was awful.

So, yeah, this race shown what everyone awake pointed out last time - engines turned F1 into processional borefest. Safety Car just faked some excitement in. Hamilton can make mistakes every other lap and travel outside of track, still fastest. Rosber has half-functioning car, still overtakes everyone like they were asleep. 1-2 again despite Rosberg having 4 better drivers ahead of him at the start. Bravo x(

You have to feel for Massa, he seems cursed to get weak results thanks to Alonso. Little bump and Massa goes to last spot. Sigh :-((

Also, it's now visible how crap the Renault engines are. Vettel manages to beat Rosberg in quali by skill alone, has start of the season, good chassis, and yet, all he can do is defend against other engines, he has no chance in hell of passing even as bad car as Ferrari. Alonso cruises with destroyed tires, DR barely closes to him in clean air. And that with RB Renault engines devouring most fuel among top 10 cars.

Still, Vettel shown class, he could have easily kept Ricciardo behind, yet let him go. Had that been LH, I feel we'd see crash before letting go first. I wonder if haters that declared Seb bad on single, cherrypicked race will now eat their words? :uhoh:

Nah just vettel can't race unless his car is on rails. We saw Lewis defensive and then overtaking skills at Bahrain.

Cars become more difficult to drive and seb and kimi are no where.

It was a boring race. Hamilton was cruising. Not too many overtaking. Ferrari performance was good this time. Really surprising but Kimi probably had the worst weekend in F1. He was almost 1sec/lap slower than his team mate. It was so annoying to see him struggle like this :x He and team need to fix the problems. That was a pathetic performance for whatever reasons.

Next race team will bring updates and it is aero track but boring one. Probably Mercedes AMG will be given the best challenge and other teams would have come closer.

looking at the fuel used, Ferrari performed as good as the other 2 engines, weren't they suppose to have fuel consumption problems along with a heavy engine?

I wonder if you'd say the same if 2011 aero was frozen instead of 2014 engines. LH fan? :uhoh:

So far, any unbalanced parts were banned immediately or at end of season, not frozen for decade.

Yeah, LH's behaviour at the end of last race was really telling

Yeah.......no way Seb was keeping DR behind him with his tires in the condition they were (compared to DR's).
