Driver of the weekend 2017 - Australia

Cast your vote for the 2017 Australian Grand Prix!

Rules & Format
Quote:
- Voting is based on driver performance (not who has the prettiest girlfriend/best haircut)
- Voting is based on performance of the whole race weekend, so qualifying counts towards your assessment.
- You only get one vote
- The poll will start on either on the day of the GP (or Monday if I am unable to for some reason)
- The poll will run until Friday so that it will always end before the next GP
- The top three voted for drivers will earn points towards a championship table as follows:
- 1st: 5 points
- 2nd: 3 points
- 3rd: 1 point
- Ties will be decided by finishing position

I'm voting for Giovinazzi. In every other team the less experienced drivers got destroyed by their team mates (Stroll, Palmer, Ocon, Magnussen), to get thrown in the car on Saturday morning and perform as he did was really admirable.

Honourable mention to Alonso. How he took the McLaren to within a few laps of a point is beyond me.

I voted for Vettel, he won the race and made Kimi look like a third rate driver.

Yeah. Kimi was looking strong in the free practice session but in qualifying & the race, he lost his mojo.

I thought these new cars would suit him. If he has performances like this too many then he'll not be on the grid next year!

You make it sound like he even care at all about this scenario happening. He's just driving to collect his paycheck. I almost feel for his fans,it's becoming harder and harder to defend his performances.

Voted for Seb. In both qualifying and the race he put his team mate firmly in the shade and his constant pressure on Lewis undoubtedly contributed to the end result. Difficult to know what he could have done more, tbh.

These things always come out when Kimi does poorly. Nobody knows his motivation. He claims he had setup issues and I believe him as in testing he was handily on Seb's pace. Might be better to wait a race or two before passing judgement

... yeah people have been saying this since 2014 I think. Ferrari do not discard their drivers lightly, which is to be commended - but this weekend it probably cost them valuable points if Ferrari will be a true title contender.

Alonso hands down. Qualified and raced well out of position.

Alonso was epic, but with the McLarens running in different specifications it's really hard to gauge his true performance. I voted for Seb, although it was a close thing.

Easily Vettel. Superb driving and extreme patience, and then dug deep to pull a strong gap and hold it to the end.

Vettel. Really strong weekend, made his team mate look pretty ordinary.

I hope after he retires, Kimi does become a F1 commentator!

Plus Vandoorne's car was crippled both in qualifying and the race.
