This was never about how they conduct themselves on track!

Read the thread title.

Read the OP?

If they conduct themselves properly on the track then what is going to trigger a war between them and I repeat why would reliability issues for Hamilton trigger anything between the two of them.

The later it gets in the season with a close title battle the more the drivers will feel the tension. Said tension raises the chances that one of them will spew out something unflattering about the other which could be the start of nastiness between them.

I would imagine that the other poster brought up reliability because Hamilton has demonstrated a tendency to go on a pout and blame his team when it affects him which could be a trigger for him to go after Seb instead this time because main rival isn't inside the team this time. At least not right now.

Personally I don't see it happening. I wouldn't be surprised if Lewis says some things trying to get under Seb's skin, but I don't think he'll take the bait.

Edit: Fixing quotes

Reliability issues are different when your teammate has the same equipment, then you can highlight the luck he has had, between teams it's different, Hamilton has had reliability issues in the past, 2012 comes to mind, I think his focus was more on the failings of the team rather than any particular driver being lucky?

Hamilton and Vettel have been in title campaigns before and I can't recall any nonsense on the track between them, now with Webber that was a little bit different, also I never recall any bad words between the two of them.

What about this option? There will be no need for war since Hamilton will easily win the WDC.:)

Wouldn't know, I'm not a clairvoyant.

None of us are so why do we even have this debate in the first place?

Ok... if they conduct themselves properly on the track then something off it might trigger the war. How does the thread title specify we can only debate whether things on the track might trigger a war, especially since the OP clearly mentions a war of words?

I do wish polls were worded in a way that wasn't so loaded. Were is the option not this season?

I think they have both done things they will regret, I doubt LH will back the field up to quite so slow a start speed but I also doubt SV will "tail gate' LM again.

SV does accumulate points on his license more than most so he will have to keep his nose clean. Will he be chastened by the fact that he put himself in a position where he could have got himself a DQ? Who knows, the question is who will be most affected mentally?

At the end of the day the fastest car will win as always.

I will be surprised if LH or any other driver does anything different to Sunday behind the SC till the rules are changed. It's been going on for years. People seem to think backing up behind the SC has only just started.

I think if we do see them bumping into each other, you might just get Bottas and even Ricciardo going for the title. It's a long shot, but it might just happend.

If we do see some development in the 2nd half of the season, in stranger races, you might see others involved, taking points of the big names.

Even if all of us and Lewis consider Bottas no2, he won't be told to slow down for Lewis if he picks up the pace. At least not in the middle of the season.

No one said that.
