Just had an idea for a thread.

A member posts a photograph of a car and others have to guess the team, car chassis/engine, what series it ran in, year, and who drove it. (No googling allowed :) )

The winner gets to post the next mystery car, but anyone else gets to do so if the winner does not post one within 24 hours.

If no one has the right answer within 3 days, the poster can either give clues or give us the answer and post a new car.

First car:

Why didn't you say so before? ;) In that case it has to be the Astromega team's F3000 car for Alonso in 2000. When Alonso failed to score, they brought Marc Goossens back into F3000, as points mean money. In their first race together, with Goossens's help on set-up and local knowledge of the Francorchamps track, they qualified 1-2 and finished 1-2, with Alonso winning. If I remember correctly (and I believe I do), Marc said that one of Alonso's problems was his poor English, meaning his feedback didn't really come across to the team.
For reasons probably to do more with funding than anything else, Goossens never made it into F1. And that's a shame.

I'm afraid I don't have a mystery car to post.

Don't know the name of the team but could it be the car driven by Marc Gene in the World series by Nissan in 98? It's the same livery as his 00 Minardi.

Zytek is the name I could not think of. I posted Spyker in my deleted attempt but knew it was wrong as soon as I pressed enter :]

I was thinking Minardi first, but that could not be a mystery car, I suppose. Does anybody have another picture to post? Feel free!

Does it look like a Lotus 49?

I don't know what it is. My guess might be a Formula 2 car. Perhaps a Formula 5000 car. Maybe even an Indy car?

I don't know, but i don't think it is any car Hill drove for a year in F1

Shape suggests early 70s, Rondel Racing is a Ron Dennis Project before Project 4. Is it a March or Brabham customer chassis that Graham Hill is shaking down?

Nah, a very poor attempt at humour. London rowing club helmet and number 2, must be.....

It's been over 3 days so I give a couple of clues. It is of course Graham Hill, and it is a Formula 2 car. Not a Lotus, not a March.
