Australian F1 fans
As you all should know Ten has been bought out by CBS,l. You also would Fox bought the broadcast rights off ecclestone to F1 races and qualifying (with some race days broadcast by 10) . Since Liberty media is in charge now & Seeing that fox failed in thier takeover bid to their rival CBS for 10. Does anyone have any inside info on what may become of F1 in Australia.

Do Liberty media and CBS have commercial links in the US? Could we go back to those beautiful glory days of all live qualifying and race days on free to air again?

Wouldn't that be nice

It would be glorious if that were to happen, I pay $43 a month to Foxtel to just watch F1's and the occansional footy match.

The problem we have in Australia is that we have a population of only 24 million people and we're stuck at the ar$e end of the world where most of the races are outside of prime time or daylight viewing.

Of that 24 mill, we'd probably have what, 100,000 people, and I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if I was told it was in the 5 figures range, who'd MAYBE be dedicated enough to be regular viewers. Unfortunately I don't think that's enough potential viewership for the FTA channels to justify paying the fee for the TV rights to the entire season.
