Stoffel Vandoorne

He did to Alonso what Alonso did to the likes of Massa and Kimi. On Alonso's favourite track. In the older spec McLaren

I like this  :D

Having a hard time to decide between the three V's. Verstappen was imperious at the front, Vandoorne as you say above, and Vettel looked set for the podium from last until a few laps from the end.

Verstappen or Vandoorne. Will be picking one later on I think.

Quite tricky to decide. I think it is between Verstapen and Vandoorne. I personally thought that Verstappen made a rather stupid mistake at the end of P3. A pretty bad time to make one too so close to qualifying. Lucky that neither had bad damage. I thought Verstappen should have got a reprimand or something for that. The rest f his weekend was very good. But I still am stuck between him and Vandoorne.

The current standings are kind of staggering to me.

Torn between Verstappen and Vandoorne, as I thought both did very well. On balance I think Vandoorne's showing against Alonso was pretty impressive, so he just gets the vote

He got 2! :D Tell me when I may leave the punishment corner again...

It is a bit of a stretch, but he did do well, and may well have seen the race win disappear before getting to the starting grip. A long overdue one!

He qualified 2nd when he teammate qualified 24th. Clearly the most beaten a driver has been this year.

I think it's just daft. How can a man who never even left the start line get driver of the weekend? Makes a mockery of the whole vote IMO

Because it's about the weekend, and not just Sunday afternoon.
I don't believe it makes a mockery of the whole vote, not with the results you can see. I considered Vettel and Max as well. But I will admit your comment made it impossible for me not to vote for Räikkönen.

Glad you're so predictably Pavlovian. Seems to me you've just admitted to trolling?

I don't know how you can justify having a driver of the weekend who didn't even race, but I guess it takes all sorts

Ferrari should have been on pole, arguably, so why vote Kimi I have no idea.

Anyway, gave my vote to Vandoorne to even it between him and Vettel. Verstappen is winning this anyhow.

I've gone Vandoorne as well. Top job.

Ferrari should have been able to drive through the field as if it were filled with 16 other second class cars, yet Vettel's drive is heralded as some amazing achievement.

I don't think the Merc was a second class car. Not as good, but fast enough to finish in front of a Ferrari coming from the back.

Maybe not a unique performance the likes we've never seen, but as DOTW he should defniitely be among the top three.

And look, he is.

For reference: Hamilton was in the car that won the race in Austria and went eighth to fourth. It isn't that evident. But it's Vettel, and so everything he's ever done is evident.
