So are they going to investigate it or let him off as usual?

Are you serious somebody find Vettel's lap.

It would be fascinating to see them split screen.

Btw I'm not just criticising Hamilton. It is embarrassing that so many others were also allowed to abuse track limits. But I'm definitely upset that Hamilton stole pole from Seb because of it. The four tenths he gained were decisive.

Hamilton went four wheels off once. Always frustrating to see but it didn't gain him 4 tenths.

Yeah, it's not like Sebastian ''F*ck off Charlie! - Bumpercar champion'' Vettel ever does anything dodgy, oh let's say drive into someone out of frustration, overtake people outside the track like it's no big deal like Germany 2012, crash into people when the race is over, crash into people at the start, etc etc. I wasn't going to ''go there'' but you left me no choice.

Now, I don't see Hamilton and the others exeeding tracklimits as dodgy, every driver does that, if they were told not to, they wouldn't do it. Vettel isn't bad at doing that either.

Hamilton exceeded track limits on both his Q3 runs according to the TV guys. Will they have the guts to throw his laps out?

I'd like to see Vettel's lap. He talked of struggling a bit with the transition from S1-S2. His S1 was shown live and it was hugely impressive.

He was talking about the previous laps I think not his last run.

Still can’t believe they haven’t found a better solution on track limits. Just put sensors in the cars and if a car goes all 4 wheels off the track then the time is invalidated from qualifying and for the fastest lap in the race.

Then have an x many strikes policy in the race where if a driver does it more than say 5 times they are given a penalty automatically. Then have it so that the stewards have the ability to remove the infractions manually so if a driver is forced off track or feel that they have another valid reason not to have an ‘off track mark’ against their name they just have to report it over the radio and Charlie & co can review it.

Problem solved, right?

You can't blame any of the drivers, every sportsman in every sport pushes to the limits of the the laws, with F1 it is both on the track and in the garage. Its the administrators that are weak in not providing clear laws and applying them.

The drivers know which corners they can use off track for, its covered by Charlie in the briefing, therefore its no coincidence that they all ran wide on the same 2 corners and there was no penalties.

The problem is that people who make the rules don't see the problem. The prevailing belief seems to be that the fans don't want to see drivers penalised for going outside the confines of the track. Obviously as usual they didn't actually bother to ask our opinion about this and just assumed this to be the case; I don't understand why they seem to believe that F1 should be different to every other sport I can think of where the field of play is clearly marked and is not open to interpretation.

Atleast in the F1 2017 game, the penultimate corner attracts warnings for going off track, with a time penalty if done often.

Vettel was clearly all four wheels outside the track limit on the exit of the final two corners so i am guessing you would like his time thrown out too MasterRacer?

Racing lines used by both hamilton & vettel are identical in the turns that are being claimed as "breach of track limits."

Yes but apparently Vettel's lap was "insane" and I think FIA rules stipulate that insane laps are exempt from any track limit penalties.
