I think the SS is going to be Botta's undoing, time for him to make his car as wide a possible.

The last sector is terrible, Hamilton losses a chunk of time there.

Bottas really does struggle after changing compound doesn’t he? Loses half a second to a second in performance consistently.

Hope we get a good fight anyway.

I doubt Hamilton will even get to try an overtake let alone get one done.

Bottas is getting supremely lucky, hitting traffic in the perfect place each lap. If he had traffic in sector 3, Hamilton would be all over him.

The Mercedes can't follow closely in Sector 3. Bottas needs to be held up to give Hamilton any chance of a pass in the following Sector 2.

Hamilton might aswell pull a pitstop on Vettel then pit again. Better than nothing, might push Bottas to pit or you could catch him.

This race is rubbish. How long does this place have a contract to be the last race? x(

I wonder if Red Bull should have looked at a repeat of their US GP strategy? Huge gap back to the car behind, come in and bolt on some fresh ultras, see if Max could make up the gap

Too late at this point I'd say. And maybe the lack of degradation would prevent it being of benefit

Bottas is doing a great job here. Sure, the traffic fell for him in the first straight of Sector 2 when Hamilton was in DRS but he's not made a mistake under huge pressure. He's solidified his reputation as a decent defensive driver.

How is it possible that billions of dollars and some of the smartest minds are incapable of creating a racing series with actual, non-DRS assisted racing?!

With Bernie out of the picture, maybe F1 will stop being the dictatorship tour.

Well, the teams pay their aerodynamicists a lot of money to create front wings and create beams of dirty air.

Bottas saving tyres/Hamilton's tyres ruined in the dirty air. Depends on the person.

So the only person to overtake for position in the points is Alonso on Massa... A damning endictment on the current regulations and the track itself...

Bottas beating Hamilton in a straight fight all weekend. A total knockout. Impressive.

Malaysia 2014, Italy 2015, Britain 2017 were knockouts given the tracks are much better for overtaking. This was impressive, but not domination by any means.

Edwards is totally wrong. Hamilton lead for 4 laps after Bottas stop.

You forget they weren't in equal cars. Hamilton had a 2018 spec engine on only it's second race. A significant advantage.

So yes, Bottas scored a Grand Chelem against Lewis Hamilton, in an inferior car. That's a knockout alright.

I'm not exactly glad that the F1 season is over. But I am glad that race is over. You could call it a bittersweet moment

Sadly not. That club still only has Rosberg as it's only member. Ben Edwards got over-excited unfortunately.

Oh yeah, I had a brainfade too. Bottas pitted early, which means Hamilton led for some laps. Doi!

I've seen some interesting theories offered down the years as to why Hamilton is so fast, but having an engine from the future has to be the best one so far.

Bottas deserves all the credit for that. Especially having the pace and bottle to set fastest laps at the end. Track position is vital at Abu Dhabi and he got that sorted yesterday.

The first race of 2018 will show whether this was a real turning point, or a false dawn owing to a mentally vacationing Hamilton. I suspect an element of both.
