Love the livery. Looks classy.

The actual car, meh, like all cars so far.

The best news for Sauber is that they will be running a current Ferrari engine and not a 1-year old spec.

Is that just an optical illusion or is there some kind of aero feature on top of the halo?

I feel they could have done a better job with the livery with more of the Alfa red.

First impressions are that it looks quite basic around the side pod/barge board area when compared with say the Red Bull, so pretty much what you'd expect really.

Really like the livery. Simple, clean and effective.

There is. Teams are allowed to do such things, but as far as I know this is the first 2018 launch car to actually feature anything beyond the standard Halo. Williams/Haas/Red Bull all played their cards close to their chest in that regard.

Nice, wish it had a bit more red on it, but I can see why they'd avoid that.

Looks great, although that halo needs to be black. Lots of vanes and winglets on this one, quite easy to see them despite the dark photos...

Livery is the best, just like their great looking last years livery, blue-gold. Congrats on the best job so far.

Halo looks increasingly easier to be hated, with every new car. It spoils the look badly. Prison bars.

Yeah, I know they can I was just surprised to see a smaller team being the first to do it. But then the big boys won't want to give anything away.

Looks very nice. I hope I don't mix them up for Williams during head-on shots

Surprised the T-cams are still where they are - with the halos I'd have thought the classic above-helmet angle be rendered useless given that the FOV will now be obscured.

Very nice looking livery. I'm also surprised that they're showing their take on adding aero bits to the Halo. Even though they don't have as much to lose by showing their cards as the big boys do I'd think they would play it a bit tighter.

Hopefully it's at least good enough for us to get an idea of how well Leclerc does in his step up to the big leagues.

Come Australia, I'm sure most of the teams will have aero bits on the Halo. This was already tested by McLaren last year if I'm not wrong? Bigger teams won't display all their cards so early before the first race.

I hope the teams do not push the aero devices on the halo. If they do, the teams will be more inclined to protest when the time comes to eliminate the abortion itself.

I am willing to accept making an ugly car even fuglier if it may save a driver's life twenty years from now.

Anybody know what company's logo is on the headrest? Two silhouettes sitting back to back means nothing to me.

I didn't notice that at first but now it's all I can see from the front.

I'm going to go against the flow and say I don't like the livery. It's got some white and blue, decent conservative lines, and then BLAM! bit splotch of red on the engine cover. There's nothing to balance it anywhere near the front, and it makes the who car look uncoordinated to me.

I believe that is Kappa. A clothing company very popular in my school in the 90s....

And which Matt Lucas practically killed off in the UK. He talked of a boss at Kappa coming up to him and saying that his character had killed their sales in the UK completely. Ooops.

Love some of the unique parts around the sidepods and airbox. Also nice to see someone tweak Force India's nose solution. Think the livery needs more red but I don't hate it.

Take the 2017 livery, replace the blue with Alfa red, and you have a contender for best looking car of the year:

That would've been pretty cool with maybe a bit of white on the nose so front on looks a bit less Ferrari like.

EDIT: Ignore me, the bloody wings are gold and I'm blind, lol.

Zorg Zander's first F1 car in years...

It looks like a Force India, from last year. I think.

Doesn't look too bad but it's sort of bland. IMO there needed to be more green to blend with all that white. Then it would look great.

i would say it isn't exciting, but not the worst i have ever seen. like williams though, sauber doesn't have the budget to spend on making a really nice livery. i imagine both of those teams would choke, when told how much a team like red bull spend, coming up with a livery

Robe Di Kappa, or most commonly Kappa, Italian clothing company, very famous in the 80's.

Thanks, to you and the other poster who answered. I'm a jeans and boots type American so not their demographic anyway.

Oh, I just saw the other reply! I think the RDK brand was big in Europe, I think they sponsored tennis clothing or something back then. I'm pleasantly surprised that they still exist

Feel like they should have had more green on it to break up the white.... feels like a missed opportunity livery wise. As for the car, already _looks_ a better effort than last year, though I guess the extra money will make more of a difference further down the line.

Out of interest, how much does a team spend on the livery? Does anybody know?

Apologies in advance for the small Off Topic subject, but I don't think it is important enough to warrant a new thread

Lol! That is horrible. The halo looks like fairy cakes, but even worse the driver is even less visible, taking out even more personality from the sport.

I think there may be talk of colour coding the halo to the driver

Like they used to do with the top camera
