Well, he is staying out. Nothing to win with pitting.

Alonso had to pit from his mediums, looking like Mercedes will have to before the end of the race now too.

I'd agree with that, he's had a great weekend over all as well. Certainly shut me up about concerns about the driver talent at STR, he's been quick and cool as a cucumber.

He's had a fairly quiet race really, just driving round by himself! Got given 2 places from Ricciado and Kimi's retirements. He's done a good job, but Vettel or Hamilton could be given it depending how they work their tyres to the end here.

Source = Eyeballs. You see his leg snap in ways legs aren't supposed to snap.

There is a way in which a leg is supposed to snap then?

Yes, I think that he will hang on

Last time Ferrari tried to over-stretch a stint as much as today... it ended up with a tire blowout.

Bottas? He could still win this if Vettel's tyres hit the cliff

Gasly has had a great drive but so has ericsson from the back to the top 10

Yeah VET will hang on. Bottas really not doing a good enough job, and HAM too far behind.

I can only.imagine the pressure he's feeling right now, but if Vettel manages to stretch these tyres out on an unplanned strategy, that's going to be impressive.

That's fair, we'd just prefer this kind of thing to be confirmed

Bottas really needed to apply the pressure to make the merc tire strat work

3.2s difference, 5 laps to go, lapping 1s per lap quicker. Hmm...

I don't wish bad luck to the top 3, but I'd love to see one of them have a tyre issue and Gasly get a podium!!!

I don't want to jinx anything but imagine any of the top 3 having an issue and Honda finishes on podium .

I think Bottas has this. There's no way Vettel will be able to defend from DRS

Have to wonder if Ferrari were forced into this strategy with Vettel due to the medical care needed for their mechanic taking up the pit lane during the pit window for him?

If Vettel's tyres puncture it's clear Ferrari haven't learnt their lesson from trying this super long stint in previous years.

Don't see how Vettel could defend this if Bottas got DRS, those tyres look gone.

Got to think that Vettel's lack of grip on old tyres will negate any disadvantage of the dirty air on Bottas.
