Max seemed already agitated in today's press conference. Seeing his comments, I think Red Bull has to do something since the situation doesn't seem to be fixing itself. I mean, I do acknowledge the huge talent the guy has, but I've never seen anyone in this sport to get that much leeway simply just for his talent. It's just that the current situation is not doing anyone any favors. Not to Max, not to the team and really not even the fans.

I liked the way he said he would headbutt anyone who asks me the same thing about my crashes!...

Yes, ask him about his crashes and he will crash into you!

He had a wee smile after answering that but I'm sure the nuance will be lost and he'll be taken to task for it as if he actually really meant he'd headbutt someone.

Also, the question was not "legitimate", it was a lazy, ill thought-out question. "Max, why have you had so many accidents?". If that's journalism I'll gladly accept a media accreditation card and go touring around the world following motorsports.

more like being deliberately provocative. Was a stupid response by Max, though, and all it does is give ammunition to the professionally outraged. It should be written off as a thruway comment and Max trying to be funny, but it won't, sadly

I don't know whether Max is a member, but has the GPDA already spoken about his attitude and his many "mistakes"?

... who should therefore be in a position to see both sides of the situation. :D Still, my question was serious. In the '70s, a more senior driver would simply have explained to a young driver that crashing into people isn't the way to go about F1. But perhaps F1 is now too safe for the penny to drop.

DM journalist asked it.

Max wasn't being serious in actually head butting some one and if they took it as a threat... well I'd head butt them too ;)

Poor journalism indeed but again that's the DM for you. They go for reactions not stories.

Precisely.

Keep in mind a semantic reality as well and butting heads not an uncommon use of that term to express a difference of opinion. IE; "If I continue to be asked the questions, my replies may well be like butting heads".

In the meantime, and forever enshrined for Montreal F1 history was Hamiltion literally driving over Kimi at a stop light ;) The Kimi reaction of wagging a finger and pointing to the light, simply classic.

Kids these days!

That's funny, another crash kid himself!...

I read today that Grosjean's team have asked both drivers not to crash, no spare parts.

They should be more concerned about the suicidal local wildlife.
