What days will Kimi be testing? I hope they do not waste a ton of time on the passive DRS unless they know they are very close to solving it

Lol, AD is a loose gun. He is the most unconsistent "journalist" i've ever seen.

One day is one way and another day another way.
On the other hand, it looks like Kimi has left something between the teeth for the Brit-jounos to whine. Or i am just imaging things?, maybe it is the WDC grabbed before the eyes of Hammy or is it simply the "mumble" which annoy them, which actually should annoy them least. Very few are native english speakers.

Hope Kimster shows that he is at least "deserving" (whatever that means) this year ;)

very good points... I think your theory holds true with Vettel as well... They refuse to cut him any slack. You don't have to love the guy, but they seem to attack him at every corner

It's funny how Kimi is contractually obligated to Burn through Lotus and then his IceOne MX team is sponsored by Red Bull.

AD forgot to mention magic words: lack of the motivation :) but probably even he knew that would be way too far :]

Kimi's wheel at testing:

I couldn't work out what the Jenson button was for until I went to write it. God, I'm slow today.

I do appreciate Lotus' sense of humour recently.

I also like the buttons on the wheel, but the Jenson one has been bugging me - what does it actually do when pushed? :P

by pushing Button you get to Jenson (Button) :)

According to Gary Anderson:

Quote:
"It's early days here in Jerez, and I have been out on the track to have a look at the cars and how they're behaving. People are running lots of different fuel loads, and that can have a major effect on the handling of the car, but you can look at general characteristics. Like last year, the Lotus looks good. Romain Grosjean is able to keep the front tucked in nicely on the tricky exit of Turn Two, where the track falls away. If a driver misses his braking point, it can be hard in a tricky car to keep it on line, but the Lotus is going well. Mark Webber appeared to be running a lot of fuel in the Red Bull, which looked cumbersome. The Ferrari looked pretty good and vice-free. The car seemed well planted and Felipe Massa looked committed, which is always a good sign. And overall, I'd say the gap between the front of the grid and further back may well have narrowed."

Sounds like the Lotus has got a good, solid front end. A charachteristic which Kimi likes in a car and one that gives him a lot of confidence to push. Lets hope all else is well dialled in to suit Kimi :)

A promising start. But Buttons time looked quick!

Well yes but during a week most will have some kind of show-runs so you can get an idea on the picking order... today.

Tomorrow or next practice there are probably new dev parts in the cars.

According to Ted Kravitz, Lotus are still pursuing in perfecting their fluid DRS system. Just hope they dont waste time with it! And not miss the beat like they did with the Coanda exhaust system

I just read in the Finnish tabloid Iltasanomat that Kimi's wife Jenni has moved to another apartment in Switzerland and has been living there for a few weeks. Marriage breaking apart?

According to MTV3 Kuvaja (Kimi's Press Officer) confirmed it, if he confirmed it, then it is official.

I hope it doesn’t affect his season as I’d expect even Kimi would have to give a f*ck about something like that.

Well, I think this is just a news to us, not to Kimi. They havent been seen together for a long time so I was sort of waiting for this. Kimi will be alright.

Since its captioned Jenson so it must be a Button. But other than that its probably the radio button. Complaining about grip and balance on the radio is a trademark of Jenson so radio button would make sense.

no Surprise... One is a big sports star, the other a pagent beauty. On paper it looks right, but in real life these rarely work

Jenni is "sports star" as well. She competes at a pretty high level in show jumping. A friend recently acquired one of her very nice horses :)

Kimi didn't wear a ring for all of last season, I don't think this was any big surprise.

Did Kimi switch to Bell Helmets? Seems odd unless it's a team deal or part of his MX team.

Kimi says they had some electrical issues and other glitches, and also had to make adjustments to the seat, hence only 40 laps today.
He used the hard tyres the entire day and was just "learning to drive again" but will tomorrow go for some faster lap times with softer tyres.

Would have liked to of seen him get more laps today but there is still the whole of tommorow so hopefully he can get some good running. Loving the new helmet as well.

Very consistent runs. Let's see of there are any glory runs towards the end of the day.

I hate the term "glory run". Why do we have to make it sound so bad ? I'm sure they also need the data from low fuel runs. After all quali is done with low fuel and new tires. So trying to get better in quali is glory hunting ?

Pardon me. Some things just pi** me off !

boy... it looks like we will start the year in about the same order as we finished with car pace... I assume RB and Macca at the front, then Ferrari then Lotus

Yeah, "results" are very similar to last year. Merc looks fast too but they were quite ok last year too.

It is fun to see Lotus and Kimi/Grosjean doing a final quali/glory run to establish speed.

Om the other hand... sandbagging might be better because the teams already know the current ballpark.

1:18:1 for Kimi now... a bit of a glory run for sure... We NEVER see RB do that which shows their confidence

Am I the only one who finds it strange that time was wasted getting the seat right. Would this not have all been worked out before testing started? Or maybe this is related to only one chasis during testing?

As long as Kimi is comfortable in the car, he would be happy starting in Melbourne tomorrow.
