Well it's almost time for the great American Race. My favourite driver Hinchcliffe didn't qualify so I'm very disappointed, nevertheless this is always a great race so let's look forward to it.

The front row will be Ed Carpenter, Simon Pagenaud and Will Power. Here is a link to the starting grid from bleacherreport.com.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2777 ... storylines

Danica is running her last race and she's getting a lot of press. Just the same, I'm not really expecting a strong result from her. I'd love to see the other SPM driver Robert Wickens do well but my sentimental pick will be Scott Dixon because of the terrific crash he had 2 years ago.

Are any of you going to be there or watch?

I will be hoping to watch it, but I am On the road, so I am not sure. Personally, I'd like to see Danica do well, but in general I have been a Roger Penske supporter since he was racing himself in the 60s... So go team Penske.

I'd like to see Danica do well, but mostly I'm just hoping Castroneves wins again. It's hard to go wrong with a Castroneves win!

I see that Leena Gade has left SPM already, I wonder if they are blaming her for Hinch failing to qualify.

No blame game going on about gade. SPM is a classy organization with a classy driver (hinchcliff). just a bad fit, it happens sometimes.

This should be an interesting race with a good mix of rookies and veterans. Being canadian i would like wickens to do well but i'll be rooting for will power.

Castroneves would be a worthy winner. I hope Danica goes out with a top 10 maybe even a top 5. OTOH a win for Danica might make her rethink her retirement, and I'd rather not see that.

Aside from Helio, I am rooting for anybody but a Penske driver.

The Indy Lights race was very good. It's odd how small the field of cars is though. One more day to go...

Ed Carpenter all the way for me, his qualifying run was awesome...Also like to see Castroneves do well as i think he's still got the speed. Wouldn't be surprised to see Danica finish in the top ten. Can't wait!

I hope European expats do well. Sato will do, too, or Danica. Ed seems to be genuinely nice person, would love him to win, too.

I'm watching it. :)

I think it will be Castroneves this year.
Danica I would like to see do well, but I think she will crash out, probably being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time rather than her own error.

Best weekend in racing for me, Monaco followed by Indy.

Pity for Sato.

Davison should have been red flagged some 5 laps earlier for being slow.

Yeah that's too bad. I would have liked to see Danica have a good race to end her career.

Indycar seem to have screwed up these Aero changes. Tough to get close and overtake.

Pity for Carpenter and Rossi. First has dominated the race, the second was brave beyond imagination. Also pity for Danica, she was having not the best goodbye, but somehow she didn't have the speed today. Dixon fared well.

Why pity for Rossi? I just came here to praise his performance.

Started way in the back, finished 4th, and took the series lead back.

Pity because he id not win. At Indy500 only the win matters.

Yeah, that's my thinking. Was hoping that somebody could take the fight to Power on the last run.

Was never a Danica fan but it would have been a good way for he to go out by finishing on the lead lap.

I believe Rossi's drive proved him deserving of an F1 seat. Some of his overtakes were pure magic.

Notwithstanding a few spins that turned into crashes, and watching Power's wife melt down, Rossi's passes were THE highlights of the race.

Danica Patrick has finally hung up her racing helmet. As a driver her career was mid-pack. But as a women she earns 10/10 for breaking barriers and misconceptions, and being an inspiration for millions of young girls.

i would think haas would give him a call to gauge his interest in coming back to f1

They should replace RoGro with Rossi. Roman would probably blame Ericsson..

This calls for some shrimp on the Barbie. A dinner at an Outback.

A BIG BOWL OF CAP'N CRUNCH CEREAL.

And win #201 for Team Penske.

Will Power also cements his place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway history to win the Indy Double.

His wife would have a hard time chewing that glass bottle.

Just like Rossi, I like to see other drivers like Power, Pagenaud, and Newgarden in F1. Well... for Pagenaud, Power and Dixon: Just 1 shot in an F1 seat.

Rossi deserves at least a seat with either Force India or Renault.

For a small Indy Lights field, I would only wished if they should send them to the FIA F2 Championship.

What an idea! It makes me think there should be some sort of "all star" series with just a couple of races a year with a mix of drivers from various different series. I know it would be very hard to get it done but imagine a race with Indy, Nascar and F1 stars all together!

They used to have an original "International Race Of Champions". Where 12 drivers from all forms of disciplines race each other.

I only wished of the Indy Lights had the F2 car so they could just join the remaining grid.
