Really suprised to see Bottas so far off Vettel. Why is he not putting the pressure on Vettel?

Slow race (pace wise) and uneventful one (at list for the front group).
Qualy is more interesting at this track.

How did Vettel drop 5 seconds to Max in three laps? Tires cooked?

It's surprising that he can make them work to the end.

There not really working anymore, about 1.5-2 seconds per lap he is down now.

4 more seconds in two laps. Bottas is too far back to do anything about that unless there's an SC.

Everyone and their granny knew these regulations would mean it's impossible to follow in the dirty air. Almost 2 years in, I still can't imagine how dumb the rule makers must be, to not have seen this coming.

Bottas has been very poor today. He should've been able to beat Vettel.

It's outrageous for many years. That's why I slightly started losing interest in F1, but hopefully next seasons changes will bring something.

That race was exactly what is wrong with Formula 1 in the modern age.
It's a shame the Singapore Grand Prix often delivers the same, unexciting event.

Toby says it perfectly. They're putting all sorts of effort into theme songs, logo's, fancy window dressings for the races, now let's fix the foundation.

Bottas had such poor pace today. I have no idea how he wasn't able to put even a tiny smidgen of pressure on Vettel to force him to use his tyres and perhaps pit. It was clear Vettel had to protect his tyres toward the end of the race even without being pressured at all. Poor performance.

I forced myself to watch this borefest. Anyway:

- Mercedes obviously pools very easily of anyone. They clearly have the fastest car now and their No. 1 driver is flawless. Congrats to his fans.
- Ferrari entering in the old state of affairs where they don't know what are they doing.
- Sirotkin has some serious skills.
- Max capitalizing maximally.

A 4 Page Race Thread. If that's not a damning indictment of Formula 1 Racing these days, I don't know what is.

How many times do we have to say, REPORT DON'T REPOST.

I've locked the thread to make sure that all those involved in the spat that was derailing the thread have read it, and will unlock it in 10 minutes.

If anyone continues it after I unlock the thread then they will get an instant holiday.

Apart from Checo causing Ocon to crash & he then crashing in Sirotkin, didn't really understand why Checo was insisting on telling Charlie about Sirotkin!

Nah.

Having watched the onboard and commentary from AD I'm not convinced he didn't bump Ocon deliberately now. I am completely convinced that he deliberately swiped Sirotkin however, and frankly I would give him a race ban. JUust idiotic driving from Perez.

So would I but they can't do it. Maldanado did it twice and got a 10 place grid penalty, Vettel got a stop/go. They can't now start handing out bans. With the Ocon thing they were both trying to steer into the same spot. I wouldn't even call it all Perez's fault.

I was impressed that he was able to correct the race engineer.

Just before Checo & Ocon crashed, did anyone see how Grosjean straight-lined turn 1. I'm surprised he didn't get a drive through for that.

Yes 100%.

They were never going to black flag him after not with Vettel.

Im not convinced, I watched it again and it doesn't look good.

Plus he apologised straight away over the radio.

Full speed accidents and low speed accidents are not falling int the same category IMHO. But others might differ in thinking.
