The results from Texas are as follows...

Image

Hamilton 14-4 Bottas (68/32)
Vettel 11-7 Raikkonen (55/45)
Ricciardo 7-11 Verstappen (44/56)
Perez 6-11 Ocon (47/53)
Stroll 12-6 Sirotkin (63/37)
Hulkenberg 9-9 Sainz (55/45)
Gasly 13-5 Hartley (71/29)
Magnussen 11-7 Grosjean (66/34)
Alonso 16-2 Vandoorne (90/10)
Ericsson 6-12 Leclerc (32/68)

- Lewis Hamilton's run of dominance continues as he takes TMW win number ten in the last eleven races. A solitary vote for Bottas prevents him picking up his third 0-vote in the last four races. Other results mean Hamilton's dominance is now only bettered by Alonso's lead over Vandoorne.
- Well what do we have here? Sebastian Vettel's first race receiving 0 votes in 2018! F*cking finally, some might say!
- Max Verstappen becomes the first of three drivers to clinch the TMW season vote in Austin, taking an 11-7 lead and stretching his advantage on the percentage side of things to 56-44. Ricciardo's reliability (or basic lack of any) at recent events hasn't helped him, but it's difficult to argue Max hasn't been driving as well as he has in F1 anyway.
- The second of three drivers to secure the TMW honours for 2018? Esteban Ocon. The Frenchman might be on the sidelines for 2018 (although swapping seats with Stroll remains a possibility) but suffering just three TMW defeats in the last 11 races has enabled him to take victory against Sergio Perez.
- After four races where he was comfortably outvoted, Sergey Sirotkin at least gets a positive result in Texas (although Lance Stroll's driving probably did as much damage to his hopes here as it did to Fernando Alonso's McLaren). But a 12-6 lead (and 63% of the vote) suggests the TMW voters believe that over the course of the season, Stroll has been roughly twice as good as Sirotkin.
- The only TMW vote to remain competitive is that at Renault, and we're once again all tied up. Nico Hulkenberg makes it 9-9 for 2018, and right now has the advantage purely because he's received more votes over the year. They couldn't end 2018 tied, right...?!
- Talking of votes that are tied, Toro Rosso have absolutely nothing to do with that. But Brendon Hartley did at least pick up his 5th TMW win of the season, so there's that. Only one driver has received fewer votes than Hartley's 134 (Vandoorne, obviously).
- The third driver to capture the TMW victory for 2018 is Kevin Magnussen, whose early season form built up enough of an advantage that even Romain Grosjean's stronger recent results haven't been enough. It's now 11-7, along with a still sizeable lead in terms of the percentage.
- STOFFEL. VANDOORNE. WINS! Okay, it took a race where Fernando Alonso got taken out on the first lap, and even then he barely scraped the win (11 votes to 9) but after Fernando Alonso took a record ninth successive TMW victory in Japan, Stoffel Vandoorne finally gets his, um, 2nd TMW win of 2018. Is the comeback on?!
- Another win for Charles Leclerc means that he, like Lance Stroll, has pretty much received double of the vote that Marcus Ericsson has.

TMW winners for 2018: Fernando Alonso; Lewis Hamilton; Pierre Gasly; Sebastian Vettel; Lance Stroll; Charles Leclerc; Max Verstappen; Esteban Ocon; Kevin Magnussen
TMW battles unsettled: Renault, Renault and, er, Renault. At least that one's close!

Maybe it is, because he should win this one pretty easily! I didn't like the idea of giving it to him at COTA, but his drive in Mexico was entirely worthy of a victory after Alonso went out.

Well, if Alonso gets crashed out/damaged his car in the first lap, he may win some more (despite again being comprehensively beaten in qualifying) ...

(Overdue) good drive by him, nevertheless!
