The first time I saw that, I had to do a double-take on the straights section. Ferrari has got some special sauce in that car! :D

Happy to see Macca #2 on the straights, showing that their turnaround of the aero philosophy from the 2018 dragmobile has been a success.

Barring Williams & Haas (they've been downbeat since some time now), the rest of the field will be tightly matched.

According to this tweet, Albon has taken more parts to put in his engine pool so has a further penalty. I thought that was no longer allowed and you'd have to take the penalty at the next race? I remember Hamilton took a load of new engines at Spa 2016 and I thought they changed the rules after that.

If that was a minnow blocking Hamilton they would get a penalty for sure.

Merc and Ferrari both seem to have taken it easy in Q1. Don't see Max being the quickest at the end of Quali.

BBC commentary mentioning previous occasions (Gio, Monaco and Sainz, Canada) where drivers were penalised for blocking despite the inconvenienced driver progressing nonetheless.

Hamilton needs to get that penalty. Same with those impeding cars. Although, being none is a Ferrari, it may all just come down to racing incidents... listen to them make excuses for Hamilton. Ridiculous.

Charles seems to continually have the measure of Seb this weekend. Chuckles fastest so far.

Seems the very thing that helps the Mercedes being the best car on most circuits is hurting them big time here. Too much downforce creating too much drag perhaps. They look like third best car here. Shocking.

What kind of excuses, can you give us an idea?

I do believe that the modern entries and exits to the pitlane are becoming a problem in themselves.

Charles appears to have the measure of everyone. It would seem he feels this track. Bottas as well, despite what happened in FP yesterday.

Yeah, I don't see the advantage at all. Might give an advantage at the start but I don't see it working out over the course of the race.

Not sure that Vettel is too concerned with tyre choice right about now.

Vettel may need those softs if he can't get out for the session.

I'm afraid that breaking them is simply a game of Russian roulette. Sometimes they're hot on it, other times everyone gets away with it!

Ah well, now Vettel will have the choice of tyre. But the softs it will likely be anyway starting in 10. <---that makes little sense, lol. It's early hours here. But I'm fearing the gate will have him starting out of the gate. We'll see.

The Ferrari 2019 season summed up. Mercedes weakest track to date, Hamilton likely to get a grid penalty. Vettel's car springs a leak.

I was looking at the first and last double corners, and it seems to me they just treat the kerbs as an extension of the track. This is ludicrous.

Nope, he got to Q3 so he'll have to start on the softs he used in Q2.

I agree, but not uncommon these days. It's probably the most inconsistent penalty award in the sport.

I have to say, I am warming to Charles, not just as a driver but as a person, more and more each race. Seem's a great guy.

I don't know were Hamilton pulled that lap from he looked panicky poor throughout qualifying, now wait for the stewards, Kimi still got through Q1, I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not?
