I could be wrong but I think the fastest Merc times were on Mediums. Can anyone confirm that?

Edit: Bottas fastest time was on Softs, Hamilton on Mediums.

What if all along Gasly was faster than Verstappen, but just had a fundamental setup issue? :D

How long before the Dutch would start pointing out to Max's Belgian origins...? :D

On a more serious note, this somewhat reminds me of the nervousness in Hamilton's camp when part of his garage crew were transferred to Rosberg's side. Still, early days, though I wish Gasly all the best.

So here is another snippet, I have no idea what it means but Gasly has never used MV's engine mode 11? Is that good/bad/red herring?

I'm at Silverstone this weekend and got a great seat at Becketts. Based of running so far I hope Bottas and Hamilton have a race long battle for the lead!

Kubica beating Russell, Gasly beating Verstappen. Nice news, congrats to both.

Slightly cloudy today. Rain is possible despite what the forecast says.

Mercedes are holding a few tenths back. Their cars look heavier than the rest. They aren't carrying as much speed through Copse.

I expect Hamilton on pole with Leclerc in P2 given how Bottas is running.

FP3: Racing point are out in the weeds with Perez and Stroll running 17th and 18th. Pretty much the same for Haas. Grosjean and KMag are 14th and 15th.

I am very pleased to see Lando Norris as the "best of the rest" in 6th. Sainz is a bit back in 12th. I hope Mac. can continue their progress back into the top ranks again.

Another session with Pierre solidly (+.3 sec) ahead of Max. I wonder if Max is having problems or if Pierre is finally getting his legs under him in the RB??

more things that make me realise how poor nowTV is. The difference in image quality on Channel 4 HD compared to Sky F1 on NowTV is massive. How can payTV only be at 720p. And what they claim to be 720p barely looks any better than a standard definition freeview channel. Watching the coverage on Channel 4 this weekend makes me appreciate how much better it is, and you don't pay for it. The quality of nowTV for what you pay is atrocious.....

Anyone watching channel 4? There is something up with their audio. A loud buzz / hiss in the background. Hope they sort that out for the next session. it is a high pitched noise and is incredibly irritating. Think something must be up with one of the microphones.

Can't hear it on my coverage.

I think you may only notice it is you have very good audio. I am listening on headphones and it is really irritating. I have tried on another tv and it is the same. If it stops between the sessions then i think there is some fault with their audio. Doesn't stop you hear what they are saying, but it is hard for me to listen to with this noise. It may not be noticeable on normal tv speakers.

Well, whilst headphones are good of course, since your post I've tried through the TV speakers and also through my soundbar. Both TV and soundbar are less than a month old and rather nice.

Yep, they have cut into an interview with lee. No background noise at all. just cone back to the commentators and the awful noise is back. It is almost unbearable for me. I am really fussy about audio so notice these things. Perhaps it is nothing like as noticeable on speakers or a noisy environment or something. The volume of this hiss is nearly as loud as them speaking.

Just plugged in my son's headphones (£150 worth) and no hiss! How odd..... Hope you can sort it out. Must be a real pain!

How are you received the signal? Freeview through a aerial or satellite? Mine's through SKY HD so satellite of course.

wow, that's all pretty close. Have to say, I do think that Leclerc is wringing things out of that Ferrari that not everyone would do.

The right result for an exciting race given Hamilton's superior race pace during the long runs. I expect a long battle barring any collision!

Hamilton lost pole on the first run, had quite a bit of pace over Bottas.
