Reality check.

Brawn says Mercedes in a stronger position, but admits W03 not ready to win yet

Rosberg, Michael, Brawn everyone has confessed the car is still not good enough. So its just the new feel of the forum that really makes feel optimistic.

I have been so much more confident in the beginning of the last 2 seasons only to be left high and dry. I will wait until Australia before I start feeling confident. Front F-Duct, Still a possibility blowing diffusers within the rules, new front wing, definitely Mercedes have done more work than the previous 2 years. So fingers crossed.

Even though Brawn has said the new Merc is not a race winner, I do believe that at least 1 race this season will have a Merc man on the top step. Be it Schumi or Rosberg. I really am hoping for Merc to beat Ferrari!

Seems a translation:

Delayed the debut of its Mercedes W03 has held forth in the interest of technical enthusiasts. The car made under the direction of ross brawn, assisted by aldo coast, and jam packed with news. Since the last races of 2011 we have talked about blowing a brand new front wing baptized simplistically f-duct, a patent that allows you to route the air flow that affects the nose of the car depending on the angle of yaw. however, more attention is focused on the quasi double diffuser raised in the central area of 15 cm (on which the regulation seems incomplete) to pass the crash structure .

Reasons: In practice Mercedes would use the same concept introduced at the front channeling air into the cental area of the diffuser. at the end of the engine cover there is in fact a large oval hole that hides within it an obvious channel that leads air inside of the lower wing to get through the crash structure to the famous double diffuser. Also the hot air of the exhaust seems to flow in the same central area. Needless to say, pictures of Mercedes W03 are in all the technical departments of the various teams.

Red: however, interesting to note that even the Ferrari F2012 there a tube that allows passage of air between the end of the bonnet and lower profile rear wing. we'll see the red back on track in addition to type exhaust montmelo red bull could therefore have a double diffuser as well as the Melbourne version of the front wing.

Above the picture:
Highlighted in yellow the double diffuser made in the area of 15 cm off limits at the confluence of the flows of air and discharges of both the blowing that arrives from the central part of the engine bonnet

Im quite confident this year that Merc have made a significant step up and should be challenging for podiums minimum.

Last year in testing and pre race at Australia the team were making positive statements about the year head, podiums were muted and the fact that the car was good. Schumi seemed convinced he'd be returning to podiums. The team got burnt big time, the car was never on it and no podiums all season was terrible, lets face it.

This pre season they are playing it down hugely. To me its because the car is actually rather good. The long stint times of the merc are competitive and they have defo improved compared to last year. Will it be enough for wins? No not regular wins but IMO there will be a Merc win this season. Id gamble on it coming early in the season between Australia and Spain.

The final test will show what Merc have got, im guessing a cheeky little update package will be on the car and then a further small uprgrade for Melbourne.

They have definitely done lot of work with W03. W02 was like the designer in charge for bodywork fell asleep in the middle and they had no option but to drive the incomplete car. Bob Bell seems to have made some difference in making the car look more complete.

Rosberg on yesterday test

"The tyre degradation is still an issue, but it's certainly better than it used to be; better than 2011. But it's mainly reliability. It's obvious how different that is."

Norbert Haug said it yesterday it is not a particular problem but there is always room for improvement and now Ross and the drivers are also saying the same. Not sure how can some people in media can come to conclusion about their tyre wear or problem without knowing what is actually going on with the car in testing

Mercedes AMG will finally do justice. They have got what it takes :)

Given Ferrari's apparent problems I'm hoping that Mercedes get into that top 3 spot not just by default but by challenging the Red Bulls and McLarens too - bring it!! :D

I don't think Mercedes AMG has shown its full speed in testing. I also think they are looking good and need to keep working on their package, upgrades throughout the year :proud:

Many many many experts and analysis are pointing out that Mercedes has better pace than Mclaren, but Mclaren is bit more gentle with its tires...

My personal opinion is this from what i had heard/saw :

-Mercedes has better pace
-Mclaren has lower tyre degradation..

3rd and final...All opinions and analysis are based on Barcelona testings...fact is that Barcelona is a track know as tyre eater so difference (tyre degradation) between Mercedes and Mclaren may be much smaller on other tracks than on Barcelona...

I think if Michael chooses not to extend his contract after this season, wit will be a massive mistake...i think Mercedes will be team to beat in next few years...and the worst part of transition is behind them..

After all those are just my personal opinions and predictions...

Bit basic isn't it.
Don't think Adrian will be copying that any time soon.

Hope its so fast, the paint peels off.
