We've got a Lewis lost points thread so lets even it up..

How many points have these guys lost through mechanical issues or team cock ups through strategy?

Baring in mind that Alonso has a 90 point advantage and Vettel has 100 they would not need to have many points recouped and still keep a healthy lead over Lewis in the championship if his "lost" points were installed.

Go point hunting my Vettel / Alonso friends!

Vettel

Valencia 25 points ... leading with an alternator failure
Abu Dhabi 10 points ... if he started where he had qualified without the fuel issue he would have been second into the first corner, hamilton went out, giving vettel the win

Just off the top of my head, dont feel like looking through the past races in detail.

Bad strategy for both in Canada.

Losing Fred a possible 15

Seb a possible 13.

Plus they could have knocked a possible 10 of hammys points.

At Malaysia Karthikeyan prevented a very likely fourth place for Vettel...

Original.

But I suspect Vettel would be further ahead.

Vettel 25 Valencia
10 Abu dhabi (just like Bakerking31 pointed out)
10 Malaysia (Karthikeyan)
6 Canada (bad strategy--but atleast better then Alonso's one)
Alonso 7 Silverstone (bad strategy with tyres)
15-10? Japan
12-10? Belgium
5-8 Canada (1 stop strategy)

If Ferrari put Alonso on a two stopper he could have won it.
