Interesting stuff. Pretty fun to read by now.

EDIT: I'm still waiting for the results of the Japanese and Australian GP of 1995...

I wonder if HP realised they were signing up to a 17+ year advertising contract when they agreed to that one.

This web site brings you the latest information about Pacific Grand Prix.

To be fair, that is pretty much accurate :)

Paul Belmondo, Bertrand Gachot, Giovanni Lavaggi, Jean-Denis Délétraz, Andrea Montermini and any others I've forgot are sitting patiently awaiting your comments.

Cut it off at that point and it's fairly accurate of his career.

This also confused me from reading the first post alone, and not visiting the website, as I thought it was for the race Pacific Grand Prix. Why the FIA/FOA allowed the name change of the team, it was exactly the same. I never thought about it at the time as it was always known to me as Pacific/Pathetic/Pacific Lotus.

Almost refreshing to see that typical early 90s website look.

I know what you mean. It may not be pretty, but damn it's responsive and clear (barring some dodgy backgrounds and fonts).

Did anyone else find themselves getting a bit sad reading through the site?
Far from finding it funny it just made me sad for all those teams who took a risk and gave it a go, but ultimately fell short.
Striving to achieve one's dream and failing isn't a laughing matter.
Indeed, it's to be applauded.
Most people chicken out from even trying because they haven't the guts to fail.

Yes, although it was sinking money into Bernie and Max's bottomless pit of cash at the time (from memory), I liked to see the new teams as well as drivers each year.

Forza Suderia Italia (even if I never screamed that at the time).

Weird... the web registration says it was modified on November 5th:

Registered through: GoDaddy.com, LLC (http://www.godaddy.com)
Domain Name: PACIFICGRANDPRIX.COM
Created on: 28-Nov-06
Expires on: 28-Nov-13
Last Updated on: 05-Nov-12

I wonder if someone's just having a go and keeping the old site up. Pretty sure godaddy wasn't around in '95.

That last updated date isn't when the domain was last modified, just when it was last cached on the Whois server from go daddy.

You will also probably find that the domain expired at an old registrar and was picked up and reregistered on go daddy.

(I own a domain registrar)

Isn't GoDaddy Danica's sponsor from NASCAR and IRL?

The plot is falling in to place methinks. Watch this space.
