In a season of 20 races. You cannot point your finger at one thing,

Ferrari shot themselves in the foot by designing a poor car to start with.

As poor as a driver as Romain is he had nothing to do with the title.

He cost himself the title at Japan by trying to squeeze Kimi out. You could also say Ferrari cost him the title by giving him a car that did lack qualy pace.

No way, Massa gifted Alonso as much points as he lost in Spa, if not more!

I'm sure there were incidents that cost Vettel dearly as well. There's no point really bringing in semantics.

Vettel had more than a fair share of unluckiness, it gave some hope to Alonso, but on the end, VEttel got it. It is not down to one event.

Lol guys relax, I was just thinking that if Alonso had a pointsfinish at Spa, he could have gotten it. I didn't mean it literally... But yes Japan could have done it too.

Even after Spa, alonso knew EXACTLY what needed to be done to defend his lead. It was not like rogro took him out in the last race.

Blaming it on rogro or anything in particular is bad form. These podium interviews suck for that reason because things dont come out as they intended to

Yes but how is that related, get a brain. Massa would've given those points anyway....

Alonso post race in Brazil "The championship was not lost here," said Alonso. "The championship was lost when [Romain] Grosjean flew over my head [at Spa] or when Vettel surprisingly only got a reprimand after qualifying in Japan.

Him and Kimi. Take your pick. Vettel owes them a big favour for costing Alonso around 35 points, gifting him back into the championship. Schumi and friends (Toro Rosso) came into play in Brazil. One just Vettel past while the others didn't seem to keen on overtaking despite being faster.

how does a bitter pill tastes??

Alonso was at fault at Suzuka and Vettel had lot of bad luck at the start of the season too.

LOL, I think you mean Alonso cost HIMSELF the championship by driving Kimi off the track!

If Alonso is going to be mad about something, this is it. His own fault weighs at least as heavily as the bad luck he suffered at Francorchamps. He couldn't do anything about Grosjean's error, but he could about his own.

Edit:

Wow, I didn't particularly like him before, but this is serious denial behaviour.

Haha it balances out over a season man.

Grosjean at Spa, Kimi in Suzuka qualy, the Ferrari pitwall at Canada.

Vettel had his problems too. And you could compile a lengthy list of problems that Hamilton faced.

Can't pinpoint a single event where the championship was lost. But certain things do stand out. What got me thinking was just how crucial vettel taking button in Abu Dhabi has turned out to be. He could've settled for 4th and played it safe, but in hindsight what a massive contribution!

Sad times as an alonso fan though :(

Vettel would have won the title even if he was 4th in Abu Dhabi. Even assuming that Vettel needed a point more or so today, he still had 2 more in the bag coz Webber would have retired and given Vettel the 5th.

May as well say that Renault is at fault for Vettel not wrapping the title up earlier. Had Grosejean's and Vettel's alternators not failed at Valenica Alonso wouldn't even have been in contention.

It's a bit much for the OP (and apparently now Alonso himself) to start blaming one off incidents considering how much luck he has had himself.

No, Alonso lost the championship today in Brezil. Simply because he didn't race like a champion and hoped for Vettel to DNF. Don't tell me that Force India is faster thn Ferrari, but that Hulk was racing but Alonso just parading. Stupid call from him! He could have done it only if he chose to race instead of waiting for karma!
