I give it to Massa, guy deserves atleast 2nd after fighting and giving up places to benefit Alonso. Guy was on fire.

Hulk would've got it had he made a clean pass on Lewis.

edit: everyone else other than Button made mistakes.

I feel Button was the driver of the day for me, coming in a close second is Massa and then..... Petrov! for getting the little Caterham up to 11th.

Felipe Massa. He might have just earned his seat for 2013.

I gave it to Button. A little unlucky to lose his gap at the first SC, but then lucky to get it back again thanks to the Hulk/Ham incident. Overall though he drove well, especially pre 1st SC on the slicks and didn't make any errors.

Has to be Massa for me, so glad he has got over his troubles earlier this year, happy to see him back on top!

I would have voted Button, but for Massa. Felipe deserved much more than he got today.

Tough one to call but have to go for Vettel. Granted, he had his worst start of the season but recovered from two collisions (the initial impact with Senna and the other car who whacked the back of his car), came back through the field from last, did an extra pit stop for dry tires when the rain was coming down harder and then a botched pit stop with a dozen laps remaining and still managed to get 6th all while driving with a damaged car.

Voted for Hulk. He could've either won or come 2nd.

Voted for Vettel. He was hit amd sent into spin, damaged the car enough to affect its balance and even had to cope with an ill-judged pit-stop & tyre change by his team. Under those circumstances and considering the pressures he was facing, he drove very well.

Felipe. Did a blinder of driving rear-gunner for Fernando in the early part of the race and was there to back him up at the end. All this with a strategy compromised for this very purpose. Was mighty impressed with some of his overtakes as well.

You have to finish races, leading for a few laps doesn't count.

There should be a rule stating that these threads must list every driver, otherwise its bloody pointless.

How can you vote for Vettel on the fact that he came back from having a spin, he caused the spin by having a bad a start and turning into senna.

I really, really want to say Hulkenberg, but his mistake cost him the race as well as Lewis.

So if someone was leading and going to win in a slow car and retired on the last lap due to no fault of his own he should not be on the poll?

Nice logic.

This poll just shows that there is someone ready to vote for Kimi no matter what. This was definitely one of Kimi's worse races in this season.

Hulk or Seb ( spun and went back up to secure his title )

After my last poll I got "lambasted" for not putting enough options in so this time I just put the points scorers.
Hamilton rocked... naturally but Kimi added massive comedy factor getting lost lol.

IMO, can't argue anyone but Button, surely? His pace was great, and he was spot on (as usual) with tyre choice. But *for sure* honourable mention to Massa - he raced a better race than Alonso, it's just a shame we didn't get to see if he could have got up to the front.

As evidenced by your signature. :uhoh: And why do people on here always proclaim their bias as evidence that they're actually neutral? The fanboyism rampant here is ugh.

well if he retired at around the midway point who says he would have held his advantage till the end error free?

I almost voted Raikkonen for sheer amusement factor. That was the funniest thing I've seen in ages, but I also had to give him respect because there was a method to his madness and he just got caught out by the fact there was no exit back onto the circuit.

But my driver of the day was Hamilton. He was beating his teammate both in track position and pace-wise and he was patient when his car wasn't as fast as Hulkenberg's and capitalised when it was faster. He was a totally innocent passenger when Hulkenberg misjudged his opportunity with the backmarkers and got the corner wrong and punted him off. And I am very, very far from a Hamilton supporter.

I have to agree with this. Hulk, Hamilton and Button were the class of the field, but Hulk made mistakes at crucial moments. Hamilton really was quite lucky to be anywhere near the fight for victory, but that was cancelled out by the fact he got taken out. Button lacked the pace in the middle part of the race, but he had the most balanced race, so I have to give it to him.
