It's 3 guys talking to the camera, no interview with Vettel, other than in the press pen. BBC got a full on proper, on air, in depth interview with Vettel.

Sky JUST had an interview with Vettel, what the chocolate fudge cake are you talking about?

EDIT: Oh sorry that Sky weren't on camera tickling his balls and fuelling his ego. An interview about the race will suffice for me.

Is your signature a reference the the old Ricky Gervais XFM shows?

Ergh.

BBC had a long interview with Jake, DC and EJ with Vettel, like they did after he won the second championship last year, not just some standard press pen interview.

*That* is what I'm talking about.

Are you mad? Vettel JUST won the championship for the third time in a row, and all they have is a 2min press pen interview with him, giving standard answers that he'll give to every broadcaster.

The BBC however got him with the rest of the team in a much more intimate, candid and *exclusive*, interview. This doesn't feel like a wrap up of the ending of an EPIC title battle, final race show down, this feels like the end of some random, relatively boring race.

Why are you failing to understand the point here?

Sky miles better. BBC were quite awful, many more mistakes and far to biased (I had both on)

Nice of you to create another Sky bashing thread though, clearly that's all it is, a Bash thread which needs to be locked.

 This. I'd rather watch ten races as they're happening than get one interview. I can always watch the highlights at 11.

What coverage were you watching today? Sky were awful.

BBC were much better getting all the exclusives with the champions and drivers.

How would you know when you cant really watch both at the same time (although as I say that, I have sky and bbc on  )

Mmmm ... a particularly awkward moment where the whole sky team is standing together and no one really knows what to do. I think sky needs ditch lazenby and a decent production team.

Sky's coverage is just a bit soulless a lot of the time

I have to agree. Having watched both today (muting and unmuting between interviews) Sky seemed like they were trying to kill time, really not doing bugger all.

I'm hoping Simon gets replaced with someone a bit better next year, it seems as though he gets caught up in the moment of being spoken to through his earpiece, and forgets he's on camera.

Well, enjoy it today. With Jake out next year, DC suspected to be on his way (and it was him that probably tipped the Beeb off about the podium celebration which is why they were positioned here) and EJ on a 20 month cruise, I can't see the BBC coverage continuing at that standard.

Yep, he made a comment about Massa's brother being 19 and that he looked older than that. One of the crew, maybe Ted, said just because you look young with your squinting face (or to that affect).

 For a start, the Beeb only had half of the races, and for another, Sky don't have ads during the race, and the quality of the coverage is exceptional.

But really who cares if one is better than the other? Pick the one you like, stick with it, then shut the heck up.

I do hope they get rid of him for next year. Dare I say that Georgie actually knows a LOT more about F1 than Simon as she's always followed it. IMO even she could be a better option (Tho I'd prefer someone new brought in)

Well, in that same piece he was asking who the presenter was going to be (as both Ted and Georgie present the F1 Show and Simon's never in the same place as them). He seemed to forget he was the presenter and when it was thrown back at him seemed taken aback and lost for words to begin with.

So we end the year as we begun it, with a Button win and a Sky presenter that doesn't seem to be able to present. Shame as their entire package had been improving. Even Georgie's grown on me a bit.

I thought Sky were superb all weekend. Best they've been all year. Highlights of Schumachers career, Nigel Roebuck's piece on Ayrton Senna, all top quality. The in depth discussion about Imola 1994 with 3 drivers who were actually racing that weekend was incredible to sit back and listen to. You just can't beat that sort of depth.

Yes, BBC F1 is great. EJ, DC and Jake have provided excellent coverage over the last few years, but I remember how wooden and awkward it was to watch for the first season. It was only really 2011 that they really nailed it. Sky F1 have just finished their first season, and I think they did a fantastic job, and it will only get better for 2013.

I've preferred Sky's coverage this year over the BBC's from the previous years. They've obviously had a much larger budget, and that showed.

I actually think Simon Lazenby is really good now....although I did cringe when he gave Whitmarsh the brolley to hold during qualy!

The Nigel Roebuck pieces are brilliant too, I'd happily go on a weekend away within and do nothing but listen!!

I thought that when Georgie done the FP and I think a few Qualis, she was better than Si.

Just need to ditch the mini skirt and high heels for the pit lane.

I don't think we will see Si next year, SKY have been taking on board peoples comments and not many people are complimentary of him.
