Yeh, aren't women annoying. If we say we will do something, we will.

There is no need to remind us every six months

Listen to The Chain on repeat and design a 2013 car. I'm designing a "Renault powered" car from a blank sheet...for real...on the computer, and seeing how it compares to what the teams come up with.

Almost everything. Without the ability to really test crash structures, I'll be borrowing those from the RB8. Sidepods, floor, nose, wings, diffuser, brake ducts, barge boards, engine cover, etc will all be my own. Full suspension arms, uprights, roll bars, everything. Will have a go at a secondary use for the DRS inside the new regs as well. Going to have a good look at the energy recovery systems currently in use in formula 1 and in the Audi and Toyota LMP cars and see what I can do there. That will be the last thing on the list though, so most likely won't get to it. Of course much of my car will be based in theory and principals since I don't have the ability to create real parts or the computing power to do the same level of modeling and simulation the teams do.

I was thinking about putting all my progress up on a blog or something for others to follow, but ultimately decided I don't want to be influenced by the comments that would inevitably come in. Will find a way to share my efforts when its complete.

Six Nations rugby will rescue me for some of the time during the off season. I'll try and become better at photography as well, in time for the motorsport season starting again in 2013.

That is a lot for 3 months! I am currently working on an offroad car, i will be designing, building, testing it with 3 other guys.(currently in the design phase)

If you would like, maybe we can work together on that project of yours, i have some free time on my hand till around end of January. or we can do the same thing and compare, learn a bit from each other. if interested PM me and we can discuss that.

For me its mostly about coming up with a concept and figuring out the best overall treatment to get there. As in, I want the car to be able to do x y z, so I've come up with this aero concept to achieve those goals. Lot of research and thinking to do. In all of my motorsport experience we've encountered a problem, spent a bit of time thinking how to fix it, created that fix, tried it out, and then either kept it or started over completely. We rarely had time to edit a solution, or conceptualize another route to solve the same problem, so thats what I'm interested in working on. I'll be in touch!

Wait for the 2013 season to begin. :D

Next year could be incredible. The top 5 drivers will be in the top 5 teams, and each of them will be the #1 driver. Here's hoping Mercedes and Lotus close the gap a bit.

you need a better Mrs. Mine knows I hate that stuff, she loves it so does all the wall papering and painting herself :]

What you don't realise is that she actually hates it and pretends to likes it so it will at least get done, meanwhile secretly plots ways of disposing of your body when she eventually cracks.

:!: She will plaster it into one of the hollow walls, do a beautiful job on the paint and wallpaper and nobody will notice!

No she honestly enjoys it to the point she used to do other peoples houses.

It's great means I only have to do anything that involves power tools

Yeah i know what you mean, although i don't have as much experience as you do (only built one car that was then later unsafe to race :D ) but that is usually the way to go when things don't work. but the concept is really the most important thing, even when things go south and you are looking frantically for a solution you always keep in the back of your head that certain things shouldn't be done as they will negatively effect something in which your whole concept is aiming at.

I'll be watching the Australian Summer of Cricket. The third and final test against South Africa starts in just under 12 hours. My favourite player has finally returned from injury, Ricky Ponting will bid farewell at the conclusion of the match, and in the event that Australia win, they will take over the #1 ranking in the world. It's very exciting. Unfortunately I'm slowly but surely losing interest in the One Day game (all hope is lost already for T20).

Trying to regain my job at the local supermarket. I was the produce (fruit and vege) guy, and lately I've found myself trying to make the food look presentable when walking into other supermarkets. Plus I could do with the money. Starting Uni next year in Accounting, so that should also be fun. I'm undecided on whether or not I should sign up for club cricket. I often enjoy a bit of backyard cricket, but I saw a nice juicy cricket bat today at a sports store and it really made me think.

Hmm... what else/

Oh yes. I've been madly in love with an ex girlfriend for over a year now, and finally we've become friends again. It's an exciting time for me despite the fact that she's moving away, but hopefully I can spend much more time in the future boring her with my long F1 spiels.

For me, this is seriously the worst time not to have F1. It was the only good thing in my life since
I started working on my thesis. . . except my dog.

I will watch NBA basketball, NHL hockey, NFL football, NCAA Basketball and football bowl games.... do some work around the house, Work on my motorcycles (when warm enough), ....

and most importantly, try to stay away PF1 and the craziness that seems to infiltrate it between races and seasons.

And I don't have to wait until March for racing as Daytona Speed Weeks begin toward the end of January... the 24 hours of Daytona, Daytona 500 NASCAR race, and the AMA motorcycle races!
:D

My live may actually be healthier without this madness.
