Schumacher revealed his future plans. Amongst he says he has signed an active testdrive contract (Pirelli?, Mercedes?, The Stig?), and he wants to practice skydiving (huh?).

I think it's valid as this link has been posted on his official fanpage on fb, but I'm
not sure :-)

If he's getting Pirelli, I hope Algy's got a drive somewhere...

it will be interesting to say the least, but If I was Hamilton or Rosberg i'd ask to be in the test car 100% of the time.

Also is he a F1 test driver or a test driver for the other Mercedes race outfits?

Didn't say he a week or so ago that he plans to continue working at Mercedes?

Yes that's what he said. Test driver seems a logical option. Other retired drivers did that too like for example Olivier Panis for Toyota.
He can do pre season tests and I think there was talk of a bit more in season testing.

Test drivers these days seem to spend a lot of time in the Sim. With him and Brawn, look for some things out of the ordinary next year.

I wonder if he will start a race the same time as the drivers and do live options in a sim, data fed to the pit wall?

Thought Schui hated the sim, makes him sick or something?

For the life of me, I can't place exactly where I heard it, or who I heard it from (I have a vague sense that it was Timo Glock on the F1 Show, although I'm far from certain) but I remember one F1 driver saying he and Michael went skydiving and Michael did like, nine jumps in one day, or something absurd like that. I guess if you're no longer racing F1 cars, skydiving would at least give you a bit of the adrenaline rush you'd miss.

As for test driving, Pirelli's Paul Hembrey said they'd love to have him, didn't he? And then there's been the stuff about him staying on with Merc. The latter would make more sense. More to do, after all.

If he wants to continue working for Mercedes the best thing he can do is become the Pirelli tester.

He isn't the biggest fan of the sim, can't imagine he'd be a test driver in that capacity.

If he keeps that pace up, he'll qualify for a wing suit in no time!

After all the crap he talked about the Pirellis this year? Seems unlikely.

He's on a secret mission from Merc. He will become the Pirelli test driver, and then he will give them specific feedback, as well as giving information back to Merc, so that the tyres suit the 2013 Mercedes car.

This would create tyres with a very specific operating window, that the Mercedes car will suit. Then come 2013, Lewis and Nico will lap the field and get a 1-2 in every grand prix. No more tyre problems for the Merc :D

Just to burst this (albeit jokey) bubble, even the Pirelli test driver doesn't get anywhere near the data...he doesn't even know what tyres he's running. ;)

I imagine he will be testing Mercedes performance road cars or racing cars.

More of a continuation of his ambassadorial role than anything else - ie they still get to use his image and name. Some publicity shoots or adverts testing new performance cars. The kind of stuff he has done already:

I seriously doubt he is going to want to be a Pirelli tester. Or Mercedes F1 tester.

for those that understand german, here is the stern-article that is being referred to: http://www.stern.de/sport/formel1/micha ... 33059.html

looks like he really is going to test karts - also looks like he has made peace with himself now =)
