Reports have emerged that Lotus are probably going to hire Kamui to replace Grosjean to provide a more stable lineup.

I would feel bad for Ro Gro if this was true but he's had 2 chances to prove himself in Formula One now and for all his raw speed his lack of spacial awareness isn't acceptable at the pinnicle of motorsport.

Personally I feel losing Kamui would be greater loss to Formula One than Ro Gro so I would be happy seeing him behind the wheel of a Lotus.

Poor old Grosjean.

Who was the last driver with genuine top drawer pace to end up out on his ear because he couldn't stop doing stupid things?

Finnish media is reporting Kobayashi is trying to get enough money (more than Gro gro) so Lotus can hire him.
They're also reporting that Kimi is trying to get Heikki hired.

Räikkönen/Kobayashi or Räikkönen/Kovalainen could both be interesting combinations (personally, I'd like the second one, but is there any other source for it than ever-biased MTV3?).

I still think Grosjean will get a second year, but we'll have to see what Boullier thinks of the situation.

PF1's main page is not a reliable source I'm afraid.

To be honest it isn't down to boullier he can have an input but he is at the mercy or Lopez and genii who i think unless total up their backing of rogro genii may demand they get rid.

I wonder if this is real, or a manager planted rumour to give impetus to Kobayashi's online fund-raising drive?

As much as I want this to happen it's a non-story.

The only factual information in the article is that Lotus are seeking a more stable driver. The journalist has then put 2 and 2 together and thrown Kobayashi's name in there.

Nowhere does it say that KK is in talks or anything like that, or that Lotus have made contact with his representatives.

I've seen Kobayashi and Kovalainen mentioned on twitter, but it seems the source was the aforementioned MTV3.

I guess KK has €1m of sponsorship money in a suitcase now to use as a sweetener :)

I do like Romain. I feel he has been unfairly treated because the Lotus this year has been faster in the race and on the start line than in qualifying which means he was always going to be in the thick of the action. Vettel and Lewis both had crash kid labelled to them and are still at the top of the sport so I certainly feel Grosjean deserves one more year.

However if he does lose the drive Kamui is the guy to take the seat most definately!

Kamui could return to GP2, be a champion and make a comeback in 2014.

Many rumours from PF1 have turned out to be true, namely Lewis' move, Hulkenbergs etc. Only rumour yet unconfirmed is Vettels supposed move to Ferrari in 2014. It remains to be seen.

I just want to see Romain in Lotus for at least 1 more season to see if he really cut in F1.

PF1 were never the first to break those stories. They copy and paste from other websites. They got the Lewis stuff from the BBC, Hulk's was broken by Autosport I believe and the Vettel rumour is a Benson/BBC make believe as well.

Enough with the sarcasm. Kobayashi has been involved in less incidents than Alonso, Vettel, Webber, Massa, Hamilton, Button since he started his F1 career.

Kobayashi has been more stable than the drivers in all of the top teams, so not much. Try looking at the facts instead of clinging to bad stereotypes.

Planet F1 NEWS is an ok source, but not 100% certain. They also speculate and get the gossip from somewhere else too.

Kobayashi and Kimi lineup at Lotus would be a dream come true, at least for me.

This would be genuinely disappointing. I'd rather see Rogro get another year and KK off to FI.

I will be glad to see the back of Grosjean. But im not sure that Kobayashi is a good replacement.

The best replacement for Grosjean is someone very consistent who doesnt make a lot of mistakes.

Lotus would be money ahead signing KK without major sponsorship in saving spare parts alone...I mean it says something when the FIA sits your driver because of the carnage he's caused.

I'd hire Kamui over RoGro.

Kamui is probably very cheap (given it's this seat or out of F1), has some solid experience, hasn't suffered a raceban recently, possibly opens the car up to more Oriental advertising stuff.

RoGro has had 2 chances, and while I believe he is a fast driver, I don't particularly think he is a good race driver. He is either crashing or getting so far out the way to avoid an incident that he's wasting his time.

I'd like this to be true.

I like Grosjean and would like to get him another year he didn't do as bad as for example Piquet jnr. But I would also love Koba to have a seat. Heikki pah he got 2 awful seasons in a top car so no I hope they don't go for him plus he has not exactly been trouncing Petrov.

So Koba to Force India and Grosjean to stay at Lotus would be nice.
