The full scale of fees for the 12 F1 teams is:

1. Red Bull Racing 460 points $3.26 million
2. Ferrari 400 points $2.5 million
3. McLaren 378 points $2.39 million
4. Lotus 303 points $2.015 million
5. Mercedes 142 points $1.21 million
6. Sauber 126 points $1.13 million
7. Force India 109 points $1.045 million
8. Williams 76 points $0.88 million
9. Toro Rosso 26 points $0.63 million
10. Caterham 0 points $0.5 million
11. Marussia 0 points $0.5 million
12. HRT 0 points $0.5 million

I can see a 0.5 mil hole in next years FIA budget.

Effectively, FIA takes back a sizable chunk of the prize money.

I don't think FiA has the prize money to begin with. I could be wrong though

Yeah, you're right, of course, my bad. So, FIA is taking a share from the prize money then :)

Yes, based upon estimates of 2012 payouts (or were they 2011 payouts?), the FIA will receive less than 2.5% of the money given to the teams, and less than 1.25% of the sport's gross income to FOM.

Ok entry fees paid on points earned, but does that mean the teams get prize money based on points scored as well or only rank? Because that'll be kind of unfair right? If a team secures a position and have almost no chance in beating the team ahead in, let's say, the last 3-4 races they might deliberately not finish races to avoid a higher entry fee right?

So many stupid things in F1, makes you wonder if the people in charge are really professionals or just thugs with expensive suits and big influence

so it seems that prize money isnt as clear as 1st takes xx millions 2nd takes xx millions , it is based in points as well
i mean why has a brilliant team like lotus pays double what some incompetent fools(i.e Mercedes) has to pay

As was explained when the new payment system was announced, if the previous points system was in place, they'd simply charge 2.5x per point. If they doubled the points for 2013, expect the cost per point to half (or thereabouts as chances are points would be for more than top ten).

The teams are mostly happy with it though as previously they had to pay separately for things such as weather reports. Now it's included in the overall cost.

Seems rather unfair, IMO. Almost like penalising a team because they - or more precisely one of their drivers - performed better than expected.

Per point seems a somewhat idiotic system to me. Per position, perhaps, as the amount would be fixed, but why penalise a team for good performance?

The more you dominate, the more you pay. It's probably designed to punish teams for ruining the show and making the races a procession.

I think they also look at the points. Notice how the bottom 3 teams scoring 0 points all have to pay the same fee regardless of position.

Something like a basick of 500,000 (As per the small teams) then 5K per point and 6k pp for the WCCs.
