Post subject:  AN INDIFFERENT KIMI

Ive read this in the comments, also recently I heard a couple of people talking about how they hate hearing Kimi's monotonous dialogues and dull interviews, also his indifference towards everything. I would like to ask does he really need to be all hyper?

Um... no, I don't think so.

Personally I like Kimi for his driving and respect him for the fact that he never bad mouths anybody or tries to blame others when things don't go right for him, unlike many other drivers I could mention. I don't need to know what he gets up to in his private life or his opinions on other drivers or teams. It has no relevance to my enjoyment of the sport.

I'm not so keen on the indifference thing and if I'm brutally honest suspect that a large part of it is just an act. I just can't reconcile in my mind the mentality of a top competitive athlete with the "I don't care if my team mate does better than me" line, for example, and I always feel a little uneasy whenever I hear him say things like that. It just doesn't ring true to me, and if that isn't true then it casts sufficient doubt on the rest (at least, I hope it does!).

While I'm at it, as a fan I do like to lap up information on the sport from those in the know. If every driver said "no comment," or words to that effect, then it would quickly become frustrating. I fully sympathise that drivers have a right to privacy and shouldn't be hounded for their opinions every minute of the day, but during a Grand Prix weekend I wouldn't object to some insider information on team progress etc

Mind you, I'm sure he's not bothered about what I think ;)

I really hated Kimi in his first time (probably only really because he was like Mika Hakkenin and I really didn't like him)

I really like Kimi now, and want him to do really well again next year

Indifferent Kimi vs Enthusiastic Kimi... Is there a difference?

He's not indifferent, he's just different.

Why would he need to be anything that he's not?

"Yes, yes, yes, yes, I'm indifferent all the time. You don't have to remind me in every thread!"

Kimi is just being Kimi & I like him like that. This year, to me, he seemed even more relaxed & actually smiled a lot more than he normally does. His radio communications also gave me the most laughs I can ever remember having during an F1 season & I hope we hear even more of them next year :D

 And good for him! He is a character in his own way and adds a nice different touch to the scene. Nice to have Kimi back.

Fantastic driver. His personality is his own, why should he change?

He knows (as we all do) that a lot of what goes on around the race weekend is complete BS. Necessary BS because thats what the sponsors and fans demand but unlike many less talented talented drivers he doesnt have to put up with it because he can let his racing do the PR for him.

the only driver who doesnt give a damn about fame but getting all of them

what a ledge....

Hopefully this give FIA a knock on their head, driver personality still influence the sport traction rather than those artificial overtakes does...

In a world where PR is everything I think his attitude is very refreshing. I guess he knows hes not programmed for PR work but sometimes contractual obligation have to be done. His Clear Anti dandruff ad is a case in point. He looks so out of place that its embarassing to watch him. I guess some are just not PR material and he knows that.
