Does anyone else think that it is a distress call? "Talk about me, I'm a McLaren driver! I am a victim of Alonsism too! Hey Christian, call me if you have a free car!

Maybe he can get over his Monza podium.

Na, you have completely taken it up wrong. The thrust and point to his comment has nothing to do with Horner, here he was just trying to be ironic. He actually was saying he wants to keep winning races. It was a rather ham fisted way about things though.

Taking it out of context maybe.

Not sure why he cares about making Christian happy unless he's eying out Webber's seat for 2014. As for angering Ferrari fans, a bit of fan backlash is to be expected in sport really, isn't it?

Not sure what he was meant to do though, fall off the track?

The same way Alonso's words are constantly taken? :]

He's basically saying the win made Horner happy (By beating Alonso therefore giving the WDC to Seb). And the rest about keeping Horner happy with more wins next year is sarcasm I am sure.

Didn't Jenson sign a 5 year deal, so wouldn't be free for 2014 anyway?

Maybe he wants to go into anothe team perceived as built around one driver, and prove himself once more. He did it with McLaren, next do it with Red Bell/Vettel, then do it with Ferrari/Alonso. Maybe that's Button's thing, to go into particular-driver-centric teams and assert himself :P

I don't believe that, but just a thought I had.

Pretty obvious Button is talking about beating Alonso in 2013. He wants to win the WDC, he has to beat Alonso to do that. He'll want to beat Vettel just as much though to leave Horner crying into his morning cereal.

Under the new qualification rules (restricted DRS), it may be possible that Ferrari even RBR and McLaren in times. So if Button is to win the championship, he must lead it from the very first race before the other teams catch up in performance.

Jenson, to me, has always had a great sense of humour & I think that he probably said this with tongue firmly in cheek. I would have to see the live interview to see what questions were asked & what his answers were without journalistic licence to think he meant otherwise.

Another Button Hater I presume? You just posted part of the article which you then took it completely out of context. If you read further it does go on to give the reason for the fan anger and a happy Horner too.

 So, since winning his WDC, his sole ambitions in F1 are now to upset the apple cart and gherkin off the previously favoured sons? I like it

I think that'd be a great ambition! Prove he's better/equal to the perceived favoured sons and heroes fo F1 haha.

This. Cannot believe people got so worked up by a simple joke.
Horner was there with his team members including Vettel, Newey. Prior to that, he also made a joke on the situation too. "I have never been so happy to see Jenson Button win a grand prix,"

One more, "There were some TV commentators that are maybe colourblind," quips Kristensen as he reflects on his driver steward role last weekend.

I don't hate Button, actually I hate nobody. This is just an experiment to see how long does it take for somebody to derail criticising Alonso, because that's the purpose of this forum, isn't it? =D

Pretty much so, and you get what kind of atmosphere does the event have from some video footage of last year.

Change the record. If "fans" like you keep setting him up for an easy shot, people will take it.

No, I think it's another PF1 member thinking they can rile people up by stealthily hating on Button because they are bored. The same works for Alonso and Vettel though, so kudos :)

Hahaha I'm not a Ferrari fan and I kinda like Button but that title from PF1 frontpage was provocative. I didn't know Horner's previous declarations, so now it makes much more sense. It's interesting seeing how some people react to these threads ;)
