as everything is quite a close call in F1 nowadays, 2 months prior the first test seems quite a bit early to have chassis already passing the tests...

or am i mistaken? - can't remember the timeframe from last year...

Everything runs on time in Switzerland...

Seems a bit early, but then if they are just going with a refinement of last years lead time shouldn't be as much.

Possible that the chassis hasn't change significantly from last this years so were able to get it built quicker

We always see struggling teams rushing to make the deadline in testing, and that's never a good thing. By Sauber completing their crash tests so soon, that indicates the team is on or ahead of schedule, and doing all the right things to develop and deliver a competitive car.

I can see most, if not all teams doing that. Sauber has probably been working on their 13' car since the summer at least, they haven't even put any new parts on the C31 since Spain IIRC.

Are there still unlimited straight line testing?

Good for them, i hope they can be more competitive next season and give Hulk a better car
