Yep, and Ferrari confirmed that the car will look similar to last year's....... That beautiful nose

It was just so sexy...

Why can't they all have McLaren or Lotus noses? Those two were the best

Williams will not run its new car - the FW35 - until the second pre-season test of the season after announcing its launch date.

on February 19th

oh dear coming late to testing is never good

I think Ferrari's stepped nose looked the best out of the lot.

Just updated the list with the Williams date. Not looking too good for Williams this year then! How the heck can they be so far behind? :?

It could be they are not and want to try something new on the old car to see the results. Maybe even the tyres so they are working with a known base.

Rather than starting with a blank canvas and wondering is it the tyres, the design, a new exhaust config giving a particular result?

Basically starting off with a known factor and going from there.

That how ever is the optimistic view. I just hope it's true.

Being late did no harm to Red Bull in 2011 did it? I think Williams will be fine. Better to have a car ready to go a week late than half done a week early. They'll get more consistent data.

All of the other stepped noses grew on me or at least stopped being something that jumped out at me all of the time by the time the first fly-away races were over.

But the Ferrari was just so akward to me. It was so blocky, to me it looked like it was made from Legos.

I wonder if they have done crash tests yet?

If they have its not been announced yet - cant find anything on what Williams are up to at all. They have been very quiet about their development.

Thats what I thought when I couldn't find anything.

If they haven't done the crash tests or will be late going to them, that would suggest it's probably a case of not having the car ready in time :(

Wish the first car would hurry up and launch already! Pre-season is killing me this year, the price we all have to pay for being treated to such a fantastic 2012 I suppose...

We may see one within the next couple of weeks. There's still:

- Caterham (who launched first, in F1 mag on Jan 26th last year - not doing that this year tho as the F1 mag is already out this month),
- Lotus (who will likely just launch at the first test)
- Marussia (will probably do the same as Williams and launch at 2nd test)

Out of the three I'd bet that Caterham will be making an announcement fairly soon. They seem to like launching before everyone else.

Does anyone think Lotus might be in trouble and unable to launch their car before the first test? They did have problems last year if you remember and are trying to include the 'device' this year, too.

I'm on speculating but I really, really hope that doesn't happen.

This should put your mind at ease, from Jonathan Noble on Twitter:

Online launch for Lotus. The E21 will be unveiled on team's YouTube channel on January 28

Thats probably why its on Youtube this year. Youtube regularly handles 5 million+ viewers on a single live feed with no problems.

Updated the list to show the name of the Ferrari. It's to be the 'F138'

http://en.espnf1.com/ferrari/motorsport ... CMP=chrome

Wish they would stick with a consistent naming convention instead of pulling it out their donkey every year.
