Ok this has been really bugging me -

We all know the McLaren team personnel all don the ricket red tops when one of their drivers has won a GP. But last year ai am convinced I saw the who,e team decked out in a sort of luminous yellow top when either ajenson or alewis had finished second.

Now I may have sunk too many beers if it was a dull race so it may be ai just imagined this but I'm convinced I wasn't dreaming. That said Ive never found a single photo or reference to the piss-yellow tops to corroboate my sanity so who knows?

Joking aside the only thing ai can think of was that the shirts were not about 2nd place but were special editions for a particular event. Trouble is I cant recall which race it was so ai cant even check that.

Can anyone put me out of my misery?

You would have. I'm guessing they wear the yellow ones so they are more visible in the paddock when clearing up after the race. There are always loads of trucks going in and out of the pit lane after races and the yellow tops would be safer simply because they are high vis. Sounds like something Ron would approve of.

It's either that or personnel in certain job roles wear them so the team know which area they are working in or something.

Don't think I remember McLaren but Lotus had one that was yellow, I'm near certain almost everyone wore it in Canada when RoGro came 2nd.

I don't know where this is from but they're wearing the t-shirts I'm on about
