Who is more likely to win a race first in 2013, Massa or Perez?

Perez.
He does not have to beat Alonso in the same car.

Probably Perez as I think he's closer to Jenson than Massa is to Fernando.

Though if Ferrari build a quick unreliable car Massa is more likely win an Alonso retirement

Perez. McLarens are unreliable and Button isn't as consistent driver as Alonso.

This.
It's going to be very difficult for Massa to beat Alonso and be in contention for victory at the same weekend.
McLaren have been faster than Ferrari for the large majority of the last few years anyway. I don't expect that to change.

It's pure speculation, because the car determines whether the driver is in a position to win. Both Ferrari and McLaren are both confident their car will be competitive, but in reality, no one knows what the reality is until testing begins.

Yes. Dead heat in Melbourne.

So we are deciding between a driver that is not allowed to beat his teammate and a hungry young lion that has a full support of his team. The answer is so obvious.

Both will win. Ferrari has apparently advised Massa that he will be actually racing - at least at first. And Perez is simply the goods - he will win lots of races in the future now that he has ventured into top cars.

Massa was held back because he is out of the title fight already, why take off points from alonso for no reason? Teams not only care about the WCC, but they also care about the WDC.

Ferrari won't hold Massa back in the 2013 until Massa drops out of title fight

But if after 4 races, Alonso has 50 points and Massa 10 in Ferrari' eyes he is out of the fight

Perez will win several races.

Would absolutley love to see Felipe Massa win a race again, think it would be a very, very popular win in the F1 community.

Perez is more likely to win first (ahead of Massa).

Sorry, but I'm confused by the title. First victory suggests who will get their first win first, Massa's already a winner so it should be changed to something like 'Who'll win first in 2013?'.

Details aside, Perez is the more likely to win, but it depends on the cars. If Massa starts 2013 as he finished 2012, he would be a better bet. If he doesn't, I hope it's finally his last year at Maranello.

If Massa maintains his form from the last 5 races last year he could beat Alonso, as we saw. Your commentary is a bit more intricate in that Massa not only has to contend with Alonso but with his own team as well. It's one thing to beat a teammate on a level playing field, BUT it's a whole other animal when the team's priority is the guy in the sister car. It's a tough position only one other driver currently finds himself in and both have had to deal with it and both have responded almost similarly, with the other guy being a bit more boisterous in expressing his discontent, and at times with good reason.

Hard to look past Perez really. Likely to have a better car from the off (going by relative end of year performance from 12), and as people say, not in a "we prefer the other driver" team. Then again if Perez keeps on throwing the car off the road for fun, and Massa carries his own form through from 12, then it could be the other way.

Head: Perez
Heart: Massa
