I am sure that for Hamilton it is difficult to be at a team other than McLaren; he spent his whole life there, and even if he is convinced that he took the right decision, the first few weeks at Mercedes will be hard for him. I am not surprised that he is not exultant in these pics! But he will settle down soon enough.
As for results, I think that he is convinced that he can deliver, but he is also aware of the fact that there are many other circumstances that should be taken into account. It was a risky move for him, and any of us making a similar decision would have something more than butterflies in the stomach - I don't think he is different in that.
I just hope he can keep his emotions in check if his season gets off to a poor start. As much as he dresses it up as a long term project, I get the impression he is not a patient man and will expect to see the team moving in a positive direction from the off. The recent media rumblings of behind the scenes politics won't have done much to quell his apprehension, either.
I'm a huge Hamilton fan, but can't help feel that his move was knee-jerk and may put a large blot on his career story. I hope I'm wrong. Roll on Australia.
Anyway, sorry for the hijack.
he's been talking to Mercedes since Dec 2011,i really doubt it was a knee jerk reaction,at the risk of some saying that i always defend Hamilton,i think it's only fair that we see at least one race first before we start crying doomed.
