Just took a look at this "highlights" of the recent Ferrari Wrooom! event in Madonna di Campiglio. Am I the only one who felt for those poor racing drivers? I mean they were made (by their bosses & sponsors) to do this and that stupid nonsense (don´t get me wrong, I like skiing too, but hey...) in front of the hungry media and other spectators. Like poodles...

Picture Kimi doing the same things. I never believed that he lacked any motivation during his Ferrari days but if he did I now know why.

They went skiing, did some PR and had some fun. What's wrong with that?

Picture Kimi doing the same thing? Ok then.

Go to an event held by the Fiat group to celebrate its motorsport division at the start of the year at a ski resort filled with parties, skiing, driving cars, snowmobiles and overall just having fun?

Oh, and you're part of one of the biggest motorsport teams in the world on either side, Ferrari for 4 wheels, Ducati for 2. Yeah. They have it SOOO bad.

The event at Madonna di Campiglio is the traditional Fiat/Ferrari/Ducatti 'start of the year' party, and is usually the first time that any new drivers or riders are 'officially' presented to the press. And, you know, this is the 23rd year that the event has been run...

Look at photo 12 in the bottom link. You don't normally see Kimi's face that happy so it must be fun :)

If you look like a tit doing something you are required to do for your job, it's not really you looking like a tit in the end. People tend to just go, "work thing". So if you offered me the kind of pay that these guys get but had to sometimes do some stupid crap and maybe have some guys snigger at me a couple of days a year, I'd take it in an instant.

If you'd like to save an innocent F1 driver from the torment of doing some PR work then please send a cheque of £5 to EndingFirstWorldProblems. Alternatively, you can become a part of our adopt a driver programme. Your driver will write to you monthly (unless you get Hamilton who'll instead send you semi-illegible tweets or Kimi who you'll receive angry phone calls from telling you to leave him alone) and you'll receive a stuffed Alonso soft toy as a welcome gift from us to you. Please give generously!

I actually thought that he was being ironic (the reference to Raikkonen and the justification of a supposed "lack of motivation" seemed to hint that way, didn't it?), but you guys are now making me doubt. Image

I was expecting Alonso and Massa posing with some dudes in monkey suits in that video, but now I'm disappointed. I don't see anything particularly humiliating there.

God, yea, Alonso & Massa must have been so tiddled off having to do this. Can't you see it in their faces, not. I'll swap the PR I have to do for my company with their PR obligations anytime & I can't even ski but I promise to give it my best effort :D
