It's not a feeling of entitlement, it was the fact RBR posted on their website, their youtube page and their twitter account that the car launch was at 1pm today. 1pm comes, and after they get a load of hits on their websites, they get a CGI car video out for the fans and don't let anyone at the actual event post any pictures. If they didn't want anyone to see it, shouldn't have hyped it up and posted it all over their website.

They did exactly what they said theyd do. Put up a preview vid, and then supply more materials on their website. Now relax and have a breather while waiting for the video, more pics, and interviews.

Is that Brundle I see there?

Sky will be showing the launch on the F1 channel tomorrow for anyone interested.

Also, if the render is accurate, looks like seb might have a different helmet template this year :)

The livery seems to be the biggest surprise so far, it does look nice though, I do like the purple sheen. It should look good out in full sun driving past. Purple rippling along the car as it moves. It does look a little busy though with the stripes.

A heavy evolution is the most logical thing for redbull to stick with this year. It took them a few months last year to get the car balance right after the new exhausts. Push rod suspension I'm glad to see is still there. From what we saw in Ferrari last year it can take a while to come to grips with pull rod suspension, and my understanding is it will be completely unusable for 2014 because the lower noses will make the geometry unworkable. Better to stick with a set up you know than invest so much time and money on a solution that'll only last one year.

Well that took up a few minutes... What to do for the next 15 while I wait for the high res pics to be released?...

Chassis heights are staying the same .

Well there goes my theory then. I'd heard so many contradicting stories over the last couple of months over the heights lowering or not I think I just gave up and stick to the original rules until proven otherwise.

I do think the pushrod is still the better bet right now, better to leave major changes till next year when an entirely new chassis will need to be developed anyway. Designing a car for pull rod suspension from the get go is much better than trying to retrofit it after the fact.

Doesn't look like it. The comparison shots further up are from launch. IIRC the RB8 had the same style rear end towards the end of the season.

Had to laugh. The press are obviously tiddled about the false launch so decided to ask awkward questions lol

Slightly better comparison (but remember that its the RB8 pre-testing so not the same car you would have seen in, say Brazil)

Yeah the launch comparisons are useless around the back end because they changed it before Oz last year.

I know this is a picture of the damage, but it may help. Brazil 2012:

It actually looks slightly wider than the RB9's back end.

Maybe red bull are trying to stop the photographers from breaking their camera lens by taking pics of such an ugly car.

I'm guessing the car they have at the launch is an RB8 repainted with a new nose. The real RB9 is well on its way to Jerez. Pretty stupid launch though, would have mad more sense to do it tomorrow morning in the pit lane.

That purple...I like purple cars, an old 71 Plymouth Barracuda in Plum Crazy, or even a newer car with a well done purple paint job...but this? It may look better in the sun, and I hope it does, because I find it looking to be over the top. If ya gonna go purple, go purple, no red and blue and white all over.

So is adrian hiding something, or does he just want you to THINK he's hiding something?

I texted the official photo to my mom because when I set up her new iPad for her at Christmas I put the same photo of the RB8 as her wallpaper, just to be funny, but she kept it there. Her response to my text was "I'm sleeping, and no I'm not making that ugly thing my background"

I dont blame her! It looks confused.

Certainly the worst RB livery we've seen so far.

It doesn't look that bad. When it's going quickly no one will notice the purple anyway. They could have stuck fluro pink on it or Hamilton Helmet green so it could be worse.

If it's going quickly, people will notice the purple on livetiming sheet. :-P

Underwhelming launch but I didn't expect much anyway. So far so good, I'd say.

Not really. I just don't care about liveries of cars owned by posters on here. It has nothing to do with F1.
