Thirty minutes until STR's 2013 challenger is revealed. I'm a little excited about this one. They stopped work on the STR7 after Silverstone last year and with James Key on board, who knows how good it'll be?

And, no, this is not a competition of who can make the best "STR8" joke.

What are the chances it gets the old Red Bull livery now that they are no longer using it :P

Shock horror, its boring as chocolate fudge cake. Another year where they are the team that people go "oh yeah I forgot about them".

Curved rear wing endplates are curious. Don't think I've seen anyone else with those? Also the air intake looks weird from that angle.

I know some people hate their livery and this may not belong to this thread, but this won't get many posts anyway so... here how the livery painting is done. :)

For a second I could have sworn that was last year's car. The launch looked the same, boring and just as uninspiring.

Best looking livery/car so far, by quite a bit.

Curious about the floor. The outside of it seems to have numerous elevation changes. And is that a hole behind the driver's head that I see?

Adrian Sutil won't be signing for them then? :o

I like the transparent winglets on top of the air intakes!

And they cut out some part of it next to the sidepods.

Are those three fins on the intakes transparent? Edit: I guess so and like it! :D

Thanks! I haven't notice before.

You can spot the vanity panel but it doesn't look like a botched job either.
What I expected when I heard about it last year.

Imagine STR8 being better than RB9! - That would be quite something!

Well, I guess we will see if James Key's input onto this STR8 will move them forward a bit. Remember, he really helped out Sauber in 2010 and 11. I wonder exactly what has been done to differentiate this STR chassis from last year's model, because it looks very similar. I mean if not the same, but the damn livery hides what can be seen completely.

It looks great, but I liked it more when the bull took up more of the space like in 2006-08.

Looks ok. The nose is the obvious change, but what I like about Toro Rosso's are that they are always so smooth.

Are those panels under the nose near the front suspension new or did they have them last year? Also the ones on the inside of the wheel.

I wonder what they have to hide at the rear diffuser? Have all other teams chosen to hide theirs as well?

Boy oh boy, is that boring...is it even something changed since last year, paint terms? A line, a dot, something?

The car does seem to be rather sleek though, pretty sure that it would have looked awesome in the sugarfree blue. But what's the use of mumbling about it, apparently nobody from the RBR/STR wants to take a good cue unless it's from Marko.

We'll see if they will be able to mount a more consisting challenge.

Even if the livery is getting a little tired the shade of blue they use is stunning under sunlight and the lights of the night races and that car has a beautiful shape. Very smooth, very curvy and very sexy. Shame it probably won't be seen much.

Has anyone seen this before? I remember some cars having a cover on the outside of the wheel but not as part of the suspension...

I'm sure that's what they're calling it, but the big plate is on the rearward side of the tire and there also seems to be a turning vane of some sort.

Odd, I can't wait to see if Scarbs does something on it.

It is not rearwards, it is facing forward. That blue thing you are seeing is front wing.
Most teams have gone for this solution this year instead of conventional brake cooling ducts. Even Ferrari has same thing on their cars. It might be helping smooth out the airflow going back from the wheel.
