Also, front wings are getting ridiculous. Weren't they meant to have fewer elements?
This is exactly why the implementation of the 2009 changes were total BS. The idea was to lower the cost for all participants and the aero regs were changed and specifically wings were changed to limit the extremely turbulent air from leading cars caused by the overly complex nature of the Pre-'09 aero.

As part of the aero changes designed to allow cars to be able to follow each other more closely (and hence promote overtaking), the 2009 front wing is both lower (75mm instead of 150mm) and wider (1800mm instead of 1400mm). The wing also features a universal central section (500mm), which all teams' designs must comply with this season, and a flap section that can be adjusted by the driver twice a lap over a range of six degrees.

http://www.formula1.com/news/technical/2009/0/617.htmlSince 2010 the front wings have featured far more than 2 elements and at the rate it's going they might as well scrap the rules altogether already and let the teams design cars utilizing a few set criteria such as wheelbase, maximum width, minimum ride height, maximum nose/body height, a set maximum HP and let them have at it. I don't see the racing any different from Pre and post 2009 as those teams with stronger cars run in a league of their own, followed by the mid-packers, and those vying to see who comes in last of the tale end runners. the changes did allow a few teams to be a tad wee bit more competitive but perhaps they would have done just the same under the old specs. Either way, the teams have now strayed so far from the spec to such an extreme that a few teams should actually show up with Pre-'09 cars for the hell of it. LOL
