Well at least people will have Merc to blame this year instead of McLaren

God forbid someone blames Lewis for something!

Now if he'll only admit that he himself is part of the problem.

I think schumi lost his edge - he came back all nicey nicey when what merc and brawn needed was the elite, focused sod of a gun willing to do anything to win - schumi of the past would of demanded excellence throughout the team and he'd of got it.

The problem with that was he was getting totally outperformed by Rosberg so what could he demand when he was underperforming himself?

McLaren are being blamed for the lost opportunity, he did have the fastest car afterall, he won't get any opportunity at Mercedes, next season at least anyways, but thats his choice so i imagine he would have to take the blame for that even from his supporters

everyone blames him for his poor 2011 nobody has said otherwise, and nobody expects anything from Merc this season anyway not even the man himself, its all about 2014, if in 2014 the car is still bad then it'll be a bad decision, but i am already bracing myself for the countless threads about how stupid the decision was after every race of 2013 anyway

I can see your point in as much what can Hamilton bring to the team to drive it forward that Schumacher couldn't, i guess Hamilton does have the advantage of more recent experience of a race winning team

Also being younger by nearly 20 years will help Lewis, plus not being out of F1 for three years. He should do better than Michael did.

Hamilton can also use the simulator and work in it & help to improve it, a thing Schumacher couldn't, too. With such restricted testing the simmulator work is very important & also to imrove it will help.

Schumacher could use the simulator like any other driver. He just used to get motion sickness now and again. It never stopped him using it though.

The time he was able to spent in the simulator was very limited, and he got this sea sickness regularily when he used it

Meh, it's about the quality of data you get back from Sim work, not quantity. Some drivers spends tens of hours in them and deliver no decent feedback at all.

Even after Jerez testing i'm thinking its a bad decision but then again i have no patience :)

And that team is still going to make stupid mistakes i.e. not attaching tyre properly to Schumi's car, having jamed rear wing and trying to set it free with hammer again with Schumi, break pressure problems Schumi again, all in all 15 retirements thanx to Brawn and co.

Lewis is in for biggest frustrations of his life, you might say that he facced these problems at Mclaren but I can bet this will be handful for him.

Am beginning to think some of you actually know more about the troubles of Mercedes than he does, I means what has actually visiting and getting in depth with the key people got on arm chair experts who know nothing but what they read and see on tv and internet.
