With his season with the WEC for 2013 with the GTE category, Bruno Senna is planning to expand his season by looking at drives in the US. Hopefully he gan get into ALMS, Grand-Am or perhaps Indy Car.

Here is a quote from Bruno:
Quote:
I want to broaden my horizons, to diversify my driving activities and my portfolio.
Racing just once a month is a bit lazy, so I'm looking for some more opportunities.
We've been looking in the States; I'd like to do some races out there.
I'm not one of those drivers who ignores what's going on outside F1.

America is rolling the carpet for you Bruno. ;)

Has any driver in the last 30 years ever gone to Indy and then come back to F1?

Did Teo Fabi maybe? I can't think of many others.

Anyway, good luck to Bruno. A nice guy who will be missed in the F1 fraternity.

Hopefully he does well in another series. He wasnt that great in an F1 car. Come to think of it, was it the pressure to live up to the Senna name the reason for it? Only he could tell us maybe.

Well... There was Nigel after winning the 1993 CART (now INDYCAR) Championship. After the 1993 season, he returned to F1 with Williams after the death of Ayrton swaping seats with Coulthard.

And Alex Zanardi returned from a succesful spell in Champ Cars to drive - less succesfully - for Williams in 1999.

Can people drop the cucumber bullshit? It's really annoying.

Yes, Narain did have a nice stint in Nascar's truck series.

He also did Le Mans 24Hr race. I think he had a top 10 finish.

Narain Karthekyan finished 6th in Le Mans in 2009.

I always thought Bruno had it for F1. Just never felt like he had a good day, or had a race on his side.
Hes welcome in the States, but Bruno stay away from Nascar.

Yes winning a GP is a sure sign it didn't work

I think Bruno driving in WEC is great for raising the profile of the championship, but sadly for Bruno whilst it may establish him in Sportscars which will give his career more longevity, I don't see it helping his return to F1.

He is interested in the Indy Car series, but not this year beacause is too late to achieve a competitive seat.
Hope for next year, Bruno in Indy Car would be fantastic and would gain massive popularity in the USA. (but his family wouldn't be happy to see him in that championship tho)

Some fresh news.

Seems that Dale Coyne Racing is considering Bruno Senna to drive in the street tracks (not in ovals) in this year Indy Car Serie, starting in two weeks time.
The choose seems to be between him and Ana Beatriz.

Hope they'll take him; he said weeks ago that he was looking into America to expand his plans for this year (beacause FIA WEC championship hasn't too many races)

I only read the subject line and my first thought was "Who? The Sacha Baron Cohen Bruno?"
Didn't he do NASCAR after F1?

If I were him I would go for Indy 500, and do ALMS every now and then, there's always WTCC and DTM too.

It means slow and interferingly in the way and that is exactly what he was. It is like Fingerboy. Maybe some don't like it, but while Vettel shoots it in the air, the name is pretty accurate. So Fingerboy, Cucumber, Unibrow and so forth will stick until these dudes change that which provokes the nick.

And I'll tell you something else about Narian - it wasn't just the Malaysian incident in which he was showing cucumber behavior. He took out Rosberg, Button and Webber with similar reckless driving. It was reckless because he was slow in the HRT - not his fault - AND he refused to recognize that fact - completely his fault.

Kimi sort of did that as well - just a one off though, so I don't know that it counts.
