Wonder if he'll keep them or scrap them?

I wonder how much they paid for it.

Also, I wonder how hard it would be to put a new drivetrain in it to make a car mobile again. Ofcourse with cheaper/weaker engines than real F1 engines, because that would be too expensive.

Since the engine is a stressed member of the car it probably wouldn't be just a matter of making new engine mounts and taking off down the road.

So you either have to find and engine that is capable of being part of the chassis, or create some sort of space frame to be the structural part that the engine used to be and hold the new engine in place. Neither would be a trivial task.

One of the pre-Ilmor Merc engines could do it...

Isn't there a Championship that uses Ex F1 cars and they all run a Spec engine which is available off the shelf? (Something tells me it is/was cossie)

IIRC to fit an alternative engine they just use an adapter plate between the Chassis and the block. There was an article many years a go in a magazine one of the guys in it was using an old Schui era Benetton.

I would be very surprised if Cossie wouldn't sell a slightly de-tuned version of the engine anyway. Isn't that what goes into the Lotus track day car thing?

Teo Martín is no ordinary auto-breaker businessman, he was a successful rally driver in the eighties and he is now one of the most active Spanish historic rally drivers.

I think the cars have fallen in good hands, I doubt Teo will scrap them.

For this year yes, but if it it isn't vapor and they are trying to make it onto the grid next year last years chassis wouldn't be much use to them.

Scorpion was intending to operate with just 60 staff (half the HRT workforce) including those at the workshop (which would have been a rented unit at Silverstone, 50% smaller than any other team's base) and with a budget of only £45 million (£15 million less than any other team), including design and development. Given these figures, I very much doubt that they are beavering away producing a car for next year.
