First of all, the content of the OP and the title of the thread is very misleading.

Second, I'm all for fragile tyres that degrade. I just don't want a narrow working range in the tyres that suddenly fall off the cliff. That's just a lottery then.

But it's not a Lottery. The team and driver that comes out on top will be the ones that get the car set up best and call the pit strategy right.

If that be Marussia then on that day they were the best team.

Take Kimi in china(?) he went backwards what was it 10 places? . It wasn't due to some random lottery style result but the team calling the strategy wrong and over estimating the tyres.

Nothing in F1 is a lottery, it's all about who is best on the day.

Schumacher Monaco

I don't understand how you can even consider that Schumacher could have won in Monaco. Everyone knew that he'd start no higher up than 6th before the race weekend even started.

I just think that's how Pirelli make their tyres, I had a set and they did 1800 miles before they were gone. Had my new tyres now, on 9000 miles and they look fine still.

Was the insinuation not that, had he not been in possession of a 5-place penalty, he would have started first and probably won the race?

You do realise that the only things similar between F1 and road tyres is they are black and round?

and 9k out of tyres? I would be looking more at your driving, are you using the right rating and are you rotating them (And no not in the roundy roundy on the road way but across the axles way.

I got over 10k out of a second hand set from a scrap yard.

As long as we don't have a race where the teams run out of tyres half way through, turning it into a total farce, then it should be ok.
