I've often thought, at a race weekend; how far do scrutineers go with their checking of the car's design. I know they carry out all sorts of bodywork deflection tests and superficial measurements, but would they for example inspect a crankshaft or other internal engine components. I ask this as I can't ever remember a car being DQ'd for such an infringement of the rules.
