I think you might be looking into that a little too much, though he does seem keenly interested (even going as far as taking a photo of something on his phone). But I can't imagine Fernando had seen something on there that no other person in WEC had.

Showing a bit of interest in the cars his mate Mark Webber will be competing against next year?

I'm sure all drivers are interested in other forms of Motorsport. Natural that Alonso too would be curious about other machinery.

If he ever ended up in the WEC though I'm sure the sport would welcome him with open arms.

Marc Gene talks to him about LMP1 alll the time, and he is interested.

I remember Alonso talking about his interest in sportscar racing when he was still driving for Renault. I think he is waiting to achieve a third world championship before making the switch.

A Ferrari return to Le Mans with Alonso-de la Rosa-Kobayashi in one car, Räikkönen-Fisichela-Gené in another one and Bianchi + two young drivers in another one against a Webber lead Porsche team, Toyota and Audi (with Le Mans specialists like Kristensen & Cº) would be one the greatest moments in the 110 History of Motorsport. Equivalent to the mighty Ferrari vs Jaguar, Ferrari vs Ford or Ferrari vs Porsche duels of the past.

Just dreaming, of course.

Ferrari vs Porsche in the LMP1 class at Le Mans would be brilliant. I think Renault are evaluating a possible return as well. It seems that the possibility of using endurance racing as an alternative outlet for the F1 engine, and maybe a possible testbed too, is very attractive.

Had he not looked into a LMP1 car I'd say he definitely will never drive one in the future, but now that he looked into a LMP1 car, the odds are vastly greater!

What could he be doing? Well let's see.
There was a lot of talk about Audi blowing their diffuser through the rear wheel wells in last years preseason testing, Audi uses a turbo diesel, Alonso was paying the most attention to the rear wheel area. So he took a picture to show to Key & Allen to show them how to blow the diffuser with next years turbo F1 engine. Mystery solved. Or not.

It's just a race car driver showing interest in a car from a different series. That doesn't mean he's looking to go to that series.

As far as the other video goes, I'm not surprised that he can speak French well. He's a very smart guy and seems to have knack for languages. I was also glad to see his girlfriend dressed and made up to where she looked older than 12, although she did look a bit uncomfortable.

Agree, for once she doesn't look like his daughter. Nice.

Probably his friend Webber is starting to tell him how cool these cars are. In fact in an interview with both, they agreed that they look into the post-F1 racing world and maybe Alonso could go to Le Mans aswell in several years time.

Seems a logical career path once his F1 days are over, especially if Ferrari ever end up entering a car.

Maybe Alonso got wind of double points for Abu Dhabi- and decided to leave Disney World for real racing

He's a racing car driver. Why would he not have a good look at a racing car on show regardless of what racing series it races in? Goodness me, if I had been there I would have been having just as close a look at it. In fact, I would have been trying to convince whoever I should to let me sit in it :D
