Jesus, seeing his name up there makes you realise: if Lotus come up with the best car, in 10 months time we could be living a in a world where Pastor Maldonado is an F1 world champion.

He is last person I want to see as a champion, but I can live in such a world. 2007 is last season when my driver won WDC.

Voted for Button, Mclaren seem to have a solid car so far and if it is quick I think Buttons experience will mean he has the edge over Magnussen. Saying that I would love to see someone like Massa or Rosberg win the WDC, to get a new champion to usher in the new era of F1.

Same logic, same team, different driver.

I kinda want Fernando to win. He's not my favourite guy on the list but I almost feel sorry for him having not won another WDC despite the fact he has been pretty damn good every year since his last one.

Realistically, I'd hope GroJo would come out ahead of Maldonado. I hope they don't get into a weird competition of who can crash out more or cause more incidents.
Button will beat Magnussen I expect. I think McLaren will give Button a car he can really drive, and when JB has a car that suits him he can be as fast as the best of them.
Vettel is going to beat Danny, though I expect a decent performance by RIC. Vettel is a 4 time champion and will come out ahead imo.

The interesting fights between teammates, imo, will be at Ferrari and Mercedes. I am really looking forward to the Kimi Alonso fight. I expect the forum will be picking apart the minutia of their performances relative to each other for a long time. As for who'll win between them? No idea. Wouldn't even hazard a guess.

Yeah we might see some proper meltdowns on this forum.

I'd love to see Grosjean up there and Massa bring Williams back to the front line but my heart tells me its going to be a mclaren vs mercedes front.

I like the look of Merc - there's a quiet confidence about them.
Lewis to beat Rosberg if it comes down to a WDC showdown between the Silver Arrows.

It is bit too early to say. The Mercedes powered teams seem to have an early edge over the others, but it is not unthinkable that Ferrari and Renault will catch up during the Bahrain testing sessions. If I had to give a name right now, it would be Hamilton. Mercedes has shown the most performance so far and I think Hamilton has the edge over Rosberg. McLaren looks strong as well, but I expect them to shift their development towards 2015 quite early due to pressure from Honda.

But if one of the others in the poll is fast and reliable in Bahrain, it might not be long before I change my prediction.

Voted for Kimi but in reality could go one of many ways, depending on car. Vettel, Rosberg, Hamilton, Alonso, Raikkonen and Button are all solid options (5/6 already world champions). I very much doubt that Lotus or Williams will be so consistently good to warrant their inclusion as options. Magnussen and Ricciardo have close to zero chance

Rosberg. Or Hamilton. Or Button. Or Magnussen. Or Alonso. Or Raikkonen.

Or someone else.

Thought some may find it interesting. The bookies have Mercedes as favourite for the constructors. But Vettel as favourite for the drivers title.

I think this season is going to be a bit like 1982, in that it'll be whoever retires least while being consistently high in the points. I also expect to have as many, if not more individual winners than 2012. Will it be another Rosberg on top? Or another Finn? I don't think anyone will know until it's done.

I voted Massa, because I thought nobody else would have. Turns out I'm wrong.

I took a blind 'gut' guess of Hamilton. Simply because when he came to Merc last year, we all had fairly low expectations and he was a hell of a lot better than I expected. Given how quickly he settled in and started delivering, I'd expect him to do the same this year. That plus the Merc looking very strong.

I'd like to say Button, but McLaren have had dire cars for a long time now and sadly I don't think they will be back on form yet.

I just hope it's not Vettel. The guy has skill, there's no doubt about it...but I just hope this year we get to see more racing and less 'follow the leader'.

If Mercedes really are as quick and reliable as it seems than Hamilton though he'd need to be more consistent than he was at the end of last year and show some of the pace he showed around Silverstone to Spa time. Rosberg just to me doesn't seem to have that final little bit that would make him champion but Vettel will be there unless his car is an absolute crock, the man is a machine. I don't think it will be Ferraris year but Alonso may get a few wins because he always get the last bit out of the car.

My heart says Button, my head says Hamilton. I'm fairly convinced the WDC will be British this year.

Feeling confident for Button and Hamilton this year.

That would be a head to head wouldn't it. Lewis v Jenson. Imagine the uproar on the forum.

Why would that be an uproar? According to this thread they are favourites this year?
