Thought I'd make an official thread because of the awesomeness of this show! Only got in to it this year but I just love it.

Brilliant characters, really well acted, great script and of course Kaley Cuoco who is a big bonus as far as I'm concerned.

Any other fans?

Great show indeed. Big fan here too. But i would disagree with you. Cuoco is great in her role and quite a pretty girl, but i think Sheldon is the big bonus in the show. It wouldn't be that succesful without him.

Sheldon is easily the best character. The small things he does, his wit, his failure to recognise sarcasm its all excellent. Been a fan since the show started or there about's. Do love Penny though as well and I must admit that is what attracted me to the show in the first place...

Not sure it merits its own thread, but then again, it's hardly going to break the internet.

It's a funny one. The pilot was a bit off compared to the main series, though that always happens with sitcoms doesn't it? Sheldon becoming more Sheldon-y was a stroke of genius. It's unfortunate for Leonard, as he is a lead character but pretty much just plays a straight man to Sheldon and Penny, who have some of the best TV chemistry I've seen. Penny messing with Sheldon's door knocks, or anything with soft kitty just cracks me up. Plus, getting Prof Stephen Hawking in to take the gherkin out of Sheldon briefly, or have Summer Glau to get hit on, or Stan Lee being funny as hell. Plus, WHEATON!!!!!!!

I'm glad they have expanded the cast to include Bernadette and Amy Farrah Fowler. Amy-Sheldon and Amy-Penny are both hilarious. I'm not really a fan of Raj or Howard though. Need them to keep the balance, but lately they have been relegated a fair bit imo.

Anywho, Big Bang and How I Met Your Mother seem to be about the only 2 good American sitcoms since Friends and Frasier ended. I still think HIMYM is the best of the 4, then Frasier, then big Bang then Friends - though all are shows I find funny (despite seeing countless times).

The red blooded male in me was the reason behind my particular mention of Penny!

One of THE best shows.

Have to download it after it's been broadcast in the states, no way could we wait until it airs here

Kaley, Oh yes indeedy ever since 8 simple rules. She's not too bad in Charmed either but then a bit of PVC never hurt anyone

Bing Bang Theory is the balls. I could watch it all day every day. My girlfriend refers to me as Sheldon every now and again, apparently I have some of his "qualities". Not sure if that's a good thing!

I always get told I'm Sheldon...

Then again, I'm the only proper science-y type in my group, and I do tend to be a bit Sheldon-y with facts and interjections about facts etc.

I like to think I'm Leonerd but a bit more adjusted though. Or maybe Bernadette.

I don't watch the series properly, but like Scrubs, if it's on, I'll watch it. Do think Leonard is just a bridge character though. He's not hyper rational like Sheldon, nor nerdy enough to be friends with Howard and Raj who are just as socially awkward as Sheldon, but in different ways.
Jim Parsons is excellent though, he learns the science lines, and delivers them with just the right tone to sound like he actually looks down on them. It's impressive considering only Mayim Bialik has a science background.

Oh and Melissa Rauch.

It's the ultimate test to see if a man is hetro or not.
Do you watch Big bang?
Yes
Have you googled 'Cuoco naked'
?

Have to agree it's a great show. One of the big differences I see between US and UK comedies is that the latter aren't always 100% funny 100% of the time but at key moments can have you doubled over in tears. While the US shows are more consistent without necessarily hitting those same peaks.

Big bang has had me doubled over once or twice though... when the russians were winding up Howard during the launch.. or several other Howard scenes, usually involving his mother.

Brilliant show. Proper LOL funny. All the characters are great, which is what makes the show work. The scripts are genius. This has been the funniest thing on the TV for a very long time.

BTW, I'm autistic and a bit of a geek so go figure.

I don't like Wonder Woman.

Pity Black Canary isn't anywhere near as big a popular culture icon.

I'm approaching 40 and love it. did take me a few episodes to get it as you need to understand the personalities and chemistry between the characters to enjoy it.

Easily the program on television i like least. Would rather stick pins in my eyes and ears than have to watch it for an extended period of time.

Raj is the show for me, his social awkwardness is very amusing and what is more amusing is that i have 2 friends who are just like him :D

Leonard is the most annoying character for me really

Lol. A top quality sitcom for sure. All fantastic characters but my fav moments in the show are when Howard is home with his mom and she's always shouting something embarassing at him from another room in house. And just like the never seen Maris, Niles' wife in Frasier, we all have an image of what Howards's mom looks like.

I never get tired of watching this fantastic show.
